Thanks for all your messages you lovely people! At the airport waiting for our flight now, still recovering from this cold so not really in a party mood. Hopefully a couple of glasses of Barossa wine will fix that! Looking forward to catching up with some old friends...

Had a delightful day with 4 school friends ( friends of over 40 years standing) down the South Coast. On of our get togethers we were casually mentioning the beautiful rug featured in SYdney Morning. Herald  being sold at a ridiculous price of $1000! Lo and behold we drove past a gorgeous little knitting shop which had the same rug but which if we knitted was going to cost $300. A bargain!! We had our lovely knitting  day today helped by the lovely owner of the shoppe called KNITTING FOR THE SOUL. Check out her website - interesting lady who has a Ph.D in Indigenous Studies but has now decided to something totally different. Two of us chose Australian home spun wool and two of us choose an American wool called loopy mango both of which she does sell online. Check out the size of the wool and the needles!

What great fun that looks courton, although it must take a bit more effort than 8 ply wool, it's more like knitting with rope  ;D ;D  That's going to keep you busy for a while, how big is the finished item?

Judy, this is so easy and apparently good knitters can finish a throw rug in 1 1/2 hours. We are not knitters and none of us had touched a knitting needle in over 25 years so it might take a bit more time! But we are so loving the fun of it.

I'm sitting here knitting too....but socks so somewhat smaller needles and yarn! Looks fun and would be satisfying to knit. Love the finished rug too.

Been busy today clearing and planting the garden (just me and ds while dh and dd at work). Then been out shopping for halloween costumes and kids' bike helmets. DS also finally saved enough for a big lego set, so bought that and helped him start building. Watching the provincial rugby final now, if I can stay awake!
Been a rough couple of nights - DS been itchy with chicken pox. But he has been great today so hoping for a good night's sleep all round.

Poor DS,chicken pox makes them miserable. We went down the beach for a couple of hours this morning, not to swim just digging and collecting shells. Thought it might give me forum time this arvo, only just as he is playing on the iPad next to me needing encouragement.

Jo I hope DS is feeling better.  Chicken Pox is so nasty!

Tennis lessons, birthday party and decorating the house for Halloween here today.  Got to do some cleaning tomorrow - I've got about 20 people coming over for Halloween on Thursday night and I'm working all week so I need to declutter!

And I bought my SS present today 😉😉😉!  I hope my SS likes it - it's multipurpose and in her favourite colour 😃. I've had so much fun thinking of an idea - it's definitely unusual buying for a person that you've never met.

We just came back from a lovely lunch at the Laughin Barrel Winery in the Swan Valley. 11 of us and had a great time. Our Youngest DD and her DH were with us. Food was great not fine dining but very astu food and huge portions

Have to find a hat for Halloween party at DD's house. It's actually for my GD's birthday which was when we were on our trip. She wouldn't have her party on her birthday as we were away so its actually a birthday party on Halloween. Very sweet of her. :D

A stunning sunset here tonight I think

It was a beautiful su set last night too MF. Even from our place.

Courton that knitting looks wonderful. What fun. It must be heavy to hold up as you knit though.  I enjoy knitting but haven't done any for years. Life just seems so busy.

Lucyluu, I went to the show today with a friend too.  We were a bit disappointed with it, it was nothing like it used to be.  What did you think of it?  We could have met up and had a cuppa. :D
I would have liked to have a cuppa with you at the show mab maybe next year.
I've been going to this show for years and since the Quilt Convention and the Quilt Show started up a few years ago the Stitches and Craft show has not been as good as it used to be. I still go though. I think it may be that the stall holders can only do so many shows a year, so they choose the biggest ones.
And I will post a photo of my quilt when its finished if you like.

Fingers crossed for you Hally!  It is a great market for selling at the moment so hopefully it will go smashingly!
