I used to get ants every Christmas Kimmy but so far nothing yet and hopefully it stays that way.  It means your pantry is nice and clean and tidy again but generally we don't have time for these extra jobs landing in our laps.

The extra jobs always seem to come at Christmas when things are busy. I'm glad that you have the ants sorted Kimmy.

Nice basket Kimmy, your workmates chose well there.

A friend gave me a nice gift today,  2 types of Brie,  2 different pastes and some crackers she'd arranged in a lovely Christmas box.

Thanks everyone - a few of us have thermomixes and we're always discussing recipes, so they thought a food hamper would be nice. Saffron, vanilla bean, Persian fairy floss, Beetroot noodles, pink salt flakes, passion fruit pulp, pandanus flavoring, kafir lime leaves, lemon vin cotto  and a bowl. I have lovely friends!

Well done dede, I hope this means you can enjoy Christmas even more.

This evening we had our first big test of the kitchen. It worked very well. I used two ovens and the Aga.
7 for supper. Boiled/roast gammon (4kgs) to keep us going a few days too. Uni's quick rolls, layered potatoes with milk and onion, swede, broccoli and carrots and I made a new pudding- chocolate and orange bread and butter pudding. Have posted recipe as best I can it was one of my 'wing it' made up recipes. I did try to make a note  of what I did. LOL  ;D

It was very good anyway.
4 at the table, 3 at breakfast bar.
One of the nicest things was everyone was still there and chatting while I washed up and loaded the DW. Very companionable.
Still clearing dining room of boxes and mess so we can have two tables in there on Christmas Day.
New stove going in Sunday. Last bathroom finished today and needs cleaning tomorrow. Door still needs putting on though, but needs few mm off the bottom as we had to ply the floor before the Lino went down.

Boiler commissioned tonight, not sure it is working yet. Will report IDC.

It sounded like a bit of christening of the new home DJ, lovely to be able to have that many visitors whilst things are still not finished.
Imagine what you will be able to do when you are fully renovated  8)
