Maddy, my Mum was the same. so frustrating and can be hurtful at times.  :-*  Sorry to hear of the extra work for DH, hoping he can get some rest over Christmas.

Michele, sorry to hear about your finger hope it heals quickly  :-* Hoping you have someone to help you

Suzanne, glad your DD is okay and hopefully won't suffer any problems later on.

Wonder, hoping the ankle surgery goes well for nephew.

Thanks CP for posting the poem, really needed that  :-*

Happy Christmas Day to you all in the SH. We have one more sleep to go. ......

I just sat down after a lovely smoked salmon supper in the dining room for the first time on a small table ( proper table in store) , and chookies choc delight for dessert, to catch up on here and so much has happened.

Maddy am so sorry..... What a bummer. No more chances.
Michelle take care of that finger. I know you know what to do but even so.... Very painful.
Last week I had to see to a smashed metacarpal of someone who was here and had hit himself with a hammer.
Wonder hope your nephew is ok.
Suzanne hope your DD feels better after a sleep and enjoys Christmas day.

The young have gone to the pub. We have floods on one side of us so the roads have been quiet.
The tree is up. I am just about to calculate cooking time of 14.5 lb turkey. Lunch at 2pm.

Hope I haven't missed anyone's good or bad luck and send good wishes to you all.
Just about to stuff two stockings.
Love that poem CP, always read it to mine every year... Dh and I had a chuckle about it..... He used to read it to his children too...

Go Santa go.....

Merry Christmas everyone, it's 7.45 am here in Melbourne and I've got some bread rolls to make before we go to church. Twelve for lunch today and it's going to be 32'C. A little warmer than I like it but lunch is cold and the company is good. So that should make for a great day. Hope everyone on the forum and their families and friends have a wonderful Christmas day.

Is it hard working a tractor at night maddy, I know they have lights these days but is that enough?  Does your hardworking DH ever have a break?

Wonder I hope your nephews ankle is not complicated.

Maddy I do so feel for your DH.

Enjoy Boxing Day everyone and UK folks and visitors enjoy Christmas Day.

Had a beautiful day with the family. Was tired when we finally got home after getting up at 5.30 with the kids, then a couple hours at work. Then I got a call from a client who had no one show up to put her to bed and she couldn't get hold of the support worker who was supposed to be there at 9.30 tonight, she also tried the coordinator who also wasn't answering her phone. So In desperation she rang me at 10.10pm to drive 25klm to help her out. So now it's after midnight and I just got home.
In the mean time while I was traveling to my clients place the coordinator rang and realized she forgot to cover the shift. I'm not very impressed that this client who relies on someone to get her into bed had no one to help on christmas day of all days. Think I will be making a call tomorrow :(
I'm starting to really doubt my decision to resign from this organization because of this client who I really fell like she needs me to stay. I don't know if I can just up a leave her because I'm going to feel terrible. This decision is doing my head in :(

You are so kind dede  :-*  I don't know what the clients are doing with your number though? That is a big no no. It sounds like the Three Stooges are running the show. Extremely poor organisation to leave someone without care. Still it was very, very kind of you to help this lady out.

Dede. I agree with Mich . .  that lady must have been so very grateful for your kindness to step in like that.  Please don't go doubting your decision to leave this agency (these people need to be help accountable for their total lack of responsibility, duty of care, you name it . . . .)  Can't help feeling your well being would be well and truly compromised if you stay.

Just a thought, is it possible for this client to transfer to another agency?  Surely, she'd be entitled to after an incident like this - she needs to be able to trust the agency and its people to provide the care that's needed - just incredible.
