Home from my short holiday, called in to visit Geoff . 2 days without me popping in seemed too much for him even though he had visitors both days.

That's disappointing Judy. I thought he had been coping well before now. Does the home do something special for Easter?

I think it is nice that Geoff missed you Judy.  :) Hope he perks up quickly now you are home.  :-*

We had a great family day today, lots of small things like taking the girls swimming again, taking them to see a new calf ( at this time of the year!?) Then home where all 4 promptly went to sleep......and so did dh and I.   :D  then we went out for dinner and just got home about 1/2 hr ago.  8)
:D

He's great if I go in every day for a couple of hours but today he asked his visitor to take him where he could see if I was coming.  The exBIL even rang me thinking perhaps if Geoff spoke to me he would be happy with that but I was only 15 minutes from the nursing home so they didn't have to wait much longer. He remembered that I was away with the kids but I guess he thought it was time for me to come home. He doesn't seem to cope for too long without my visits and becomes agitated.

Weekends and public holidays the lifestyle girls don't work so it's more boring for residents.  I'll go in earlier than usual tomorrow to make up for my absence.

Bought 2 Jackroodle puppies yesterday. DD2 wants Peanut for when she comes home from Sydney later in the year (and will live with boyfriend) and I will have little Gracie, who I suspect is the runt of the litter but totally sweet. Will be up to me to bring the best out of them, and train them. They are incredibly smart and I've already taught them how to sit. The little darlings just want to please. Last night they barked and carried on until 11pm like 10 dogs being tortured. Today I was able to go to the shops and buy a stair guard and some chicken breast and sweet potato and they were settled at about 7:30. Cat was so scared but she has just ventured inside, albeit tentatively. Will take the introductions very slowly.
