A rifle Denise?

Lovely cookie, it's nice to be appreciated for all the work you do for the club. Gutsy lady, singing the national anthem in front of all those people.

Not gutsy at all ladies. It was quick, informal and done for a laugh. If I had time to think about it I wouldn't have done it.

Denise for the crows you may like to try this. Take a few eggs and hard boil them. Then carefully take the top off, scoop some out and put chilli flakes in. Try to put the top back on. Alternatively boil the eggs, take out the yolks, mash with lots and lots of chilli and reconstruct the eggs as best you can. Curry powder could be used too but you need lots.
Many years ago you could buy china eggs to put under the hens but I don't know if you can still buy them.

Actually one of our workers has done just that Judy, shot one and hung it on the run fence. My DD's are aghast.  I think we will try cookies idea.

Oh no Denise! I'd go the rifle  ;D In my experience crows aren't bothered by subtle hints. Cookie's idea is very interesting though. Hope you have a video camera ready to record the effects of chilli on the crows' taste buds :D

Bedlam I have also heard that hanging a crow body on the fence is good too. I am being quite serious as Dad used to do these things when we were growing up.

Not an easy thing to get a crow body; they seem to know when the farmer has the gun out.

How did your run go Wonder? Did the rain let up?

I tried Cookies trick to stop an egg eating chicken, it didn't work. I think she actually enjoyed the mixture of chilli, horseradish and curry that I filled the eggs with.

Back to the drawing board then Denise although perhaps crows won't like it.

Sitting here wondering how soon I can go to bed! I went with the kids on a school bush walk trip and I am pooped. DS has gone to bed early, but little miss5 has gone to the scouts end-of-year night at the pool! Don't know how she's still going.

Kids have amazing recuperative powers. It is frightening, you think you have worn them out and they come back at full strength.
