Beautiful work Kristy. Most unlike my first crochet attempts. I still haven't really mastered it.  I can knit and embroider but crochet and macrame get me in knots, the wrong sort!  :-\

Well done on your 1st crochet project Kristy! Looks great. I  too was a knitter, sewer, embroiderer but couldn't crochet, until I taught myself from Crochet for Dummies and the Internet.  I love it and find it  very relaxing.

Great blanket Kristy; love the mix of colours. I have learnt to crochet but the tendons don't want me to do it these day but I am glad to say that GD 11 has taken it up. Keep it up as lots of girls don't learn these skills today. I am still patchworking and when the binding is done I will endeavour to have a photo posted.

Snap Troupie  I have spent the afternoon working on a quilt too.  Putting on borders today and hopefully getting the binding on by the end of the week.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I used to quilt alot but the time factor gets in the way, there are so many things I want to learn and do! I'm teaching Mr 7 to knit and he can darn his socks thanks to DH. There are so many skills that have gotten lost in the last 50 or so years. DH runs a charcoal forge in our backyard, so I have even tried my hand at blacksmithing haha
I picked up some books on crochet at the library today, I'm hoping to teach myself to follow a pattern next :)

Good on you Kristy.
Today I took a loaf of bread and Marina's soup over to the friend who smashed his heel falling off the ladder. He is a vegetarian and I didn't know if he would eat chicken soup!  He does so that will be the next soup. I took the recipe as well so his wife is going to try making it as well.

Gorgeous Kristy, I have crocheting on my bucket list and have found a mermaids tail blanket that I would love to make for Miss Lily, one day

Interesting Kristy, what does your DH use the forge for?
Happy  Patchworkin. & Quilting Troupie and Mab. I'm still hoping to get my quilting enthusiasm back one day, like Kristy, time seems to get away from me.

Mainly custom knives Katj, but he has tried his hand at all sorts. He has made a lot of his tools himself as they are hard to source and expensive in Australia.

Tongs in production.

We do the leather work for the sheaths and all the woodwork ourselves as well.

Awesome Kristy. My DH has all sorts of tools, machines and other stuff in his shed but he doesn't have a forge. He heats things up with a blow lamp, but you couldn't do anything major that way. Does the forge have a bellows?

I'm playing sourdough today. My new bread book has heaps of recipes that use 100g of SD starter. So today I am trying a couple of the recipes. It also uses a little yeast with the starter.  So far so good. If the recipes are successful I will post them.
