DH and I went to Books for Cooks today. What a lovely shop!!  First we looked for that clothing store The Ginger Tree, only to be told it had closed.
I didn't want to buy books as we are still packing up, and we are coming back to Melbourne at the end of May again for DS's birthday. I did buy Rena Patten's "Cooking with Kale" . I love her quinoa cookbooks.
The other one I got was "Kale" The complete guide. Looks very informative and interesting.
I could have spent all day there. 2 shelves just on Indian cooking!
Our parking meter was nearly up and we had to go to some other places before picking up DS.
Will definitely go back in May with some extra $'s.

I'm too scared to go into Books for Cooks ... it's a very dangerous shop! :D

I've had a good day, just a normal day really but a little different. I commented on how nice DH's Pork roast looked and I was offered a plate. Delicious, better than any hotel roast I've ever had.  I was then offered a bowl of fruit salad but didn't want to push my luck.  Today they celebrated Jan, Feb & March birthdays so I stayed for afternoon tea - coffee, wine, fruit platter and a lovely moist chocolate cake.  I rolled out of there with a full tummy and met the neighbours at the local hotel for our monthly afternoon tea meet up.  The girls came back here to raid my chive patch.  No evening meal for me tonight!

I have been to Source in Vic Park Katj but will be going again soon to see if they have these sorts of things there too.

Judy, what a lovely, surprising day you have had. It's wonderful to hear that the food was tasty.

We've been to the zoo a few times in the past year. We're going again in two weeks for a Cub Scout thing, and the King of Sweden will be there.

From memory they did cookie, wish there was a source closer to me, either 30 plus min north and about the same south. It's a bit different than weigh a pay which is 5min from work.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Cookie, have you looked at 2brothersfoods.com.au their prices are quite a bit less than Source Bulk, and the postage is a flat rate of $3.50, I think they must be in WA.
I know someone that shops with them and she is happy with their service.

How far from Cairns are you Robyn? I guess you don't see your parents too often.

I had a friend call in for morning tea.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.
