Wow Chookie that's a big mushroom.

Getting ready for our holiday.  We are going to Echuca for 4 days.  DS and family have booked us on a overnight dinner cruise on one of the paddle steamers.  This is a combined birthday present for us.  We will come home for two days and then head off to Narooma for a week and take a slow trip home from there.  We are really looking forward to getting away and hoping that the weather will be good.

A button mushroom on steroids Chookie.
It sounds like a couple of nice short breaks Margaret, enjoy them both.

You'll love the paddle steamer.  I know Chookie and Ral have done a trip on one of them and 2 years ago we went up and did a lunch trip, it was great and very memorable.

I love Echuca Margaret especially the paddle steamers.

What an enormous mushroom, a meal for two by itself.

This morning DH and I went to the specialist for his back. He was still suffering after supposed sciatica 5 months later. The specialist said his back is ok and will recover slowly, no sign of sciatica, just age!

That's good news that DH's back is OK cookie, maybe he just has to take things a little easier to enable the pain to ease.  Not much he, nor anyone else for that matter, can do about ageing though unfortunately.

Cooking and gardening.
Mab, lovely breaks away. Have a great time.
Cookie, tell DH to take it a bit easier. Getting older is a bugger.

I will pass on your sentiments to DH, thanks.

We went to a funeral this morning. Poor lady had been in a wheel chair for about 5 years and absolutely hated it. Her family have looked upon it as a blessing as she has been in so much pain.
It makes paltry aches and pains seem so inferior.

Sounds like a lovely trip Mab.
DH and I are off to Forster next weekend for our anniversary, taking the van. Just love Forster, will probably retire there.

I was like that too, until we got our home in Guildford.  Just remember, going somewhere on holiday and living there are two entirely different things.

So true Marina. I would like to live in a warmer climate and Forster is only 2 hours north of us so wouldn't be much different weather wise. As DH pointed out
we would still have to come back to Newcastle for any specialist etc.

Love this quote and the sentiment McMich... we stayed in a lovely flat in Cornwall for a week in October overlooking the sea, fab but as CC says Cornwall is just too far from everywhere.

Walked 3 miles today and got office ready for delivery of secondhand desks tmro and been planning my secret santa too ;)

I'm like you Astarra, I love a nice holiday or quick getaway, but always love to come home.

I've made a Salad for tonight to go with some steamed salmon, also made quick mango Icecream from Isi's recipe here on forum. Hers is done with frozen raspberries, but I 'Ve used mango this time, whips up beautifully with the egg whites with the butterfly in.
I made a green smoothie for lunch too. We ate a lot on the weekend, having a light day today.
Off to babysit at DD's for a few hours, so I like to have dinner sorted.
