My darling friend gifted me some quince paste as she new I was away and probably would not get to make it .
Returned home late from dentist , DH caught me a tiny black kitten with green eyes . It’s very small but likes mice !! Oh dear me .
Early start to take DS to school ! Then hopefully yoga .

Just cooking Quinces all day. Was able to put homemade labels on jars.
Cookie, always something to worry about.
KAtie, don’t hint a mall kitty will catch many mice.  But still nice.

We hope to keep it in the cage for awhile till it socialised with us . It might disappear too .
Not happy Covid numbers going up ! I’m stressed but trying to keep calm , silly I was at the shops this morning hardly got anything.
Both DH and I are very tiered , sat down after lunch with a cuppa both had a nana nap . Too funny .

Nana naps are good for you. I work on the policy that you wouldn’t go to sleep unless you needed it.
We drove up to Port Gregory today. We had to go through Northampton which got knocked around by cyclone Seroja some weeks back. It is so sad to see so many home with tarps for rooves and entire buildings flattened. Lots of sheds gone too. The trees have suffered too.
Tomorrow we are going to drive up to Kalbarri, the town that was the worst hit. It will be a nice drive up the coast, it’s only about 50km.

That’s good Mab. They say quite a few people feel yuck.
We spent last night at Port Gregory and are staying here again tonight. We went for a drive up to Kalbarri. I felt so bad for the people that had had homes destroyed or rooves blown off. Tomorrow we turn back toward home.

Cookie, thanks  for the photos. We always enjoy travelling with you.
We have decided not to go to Melbourne next week. I spent most of yesterday  on the phone cancelling appointments . Very disappointed, especially the Visit to the Impressionist Exhibition at the Art Gallery. The Sofitel didn’t hesitate to give a full refund.

Looks like another lockdown coming for Melbourne, once again it messes up everyone’s plans but we know these breakouts are going to happen from time to time and have come to accept it.  Melbourne SIL was coming over this weekend and DD and her family were going over from here in a week’s time so I daresay that will be cancelled too.

Lovely photos Cookie.  We loved that part of the west coast when we visited especially the Kalbarri area.

Supermarket shopping this morning.  We got caught in some heavy rain and came home wet through.  DS no2 birthday today, we will have his birthday dinner on  Saturday.

I really feel for everyone in Victoria. Another lockdown. Hopefully it will be only the 7 days.
We drove south today. We are stopping in Three Springs again tonight. It was a good stop on the way up.
It’s been quite warm today. We even had the air con on in the car.

Chookie I am so sorry that your week in Melbourne has to be forfeited.  Hopefully you can fit one into your plans soon.

Love the photos Cookie .
Sorry for your plans Chookie , but better to stay safe .
Well I am nackered , to Melbourne and back to collect DD from college today  , one stop to collect her and on the road home . I was so stressed this am of what to do but then I just had no choice , meanwhile DH had to go the opposite direction and collect DS and do a shop , not much left in the supermarkets 3 bananas only . Thank god I go out of there fast . Feel it will be a lot longer than 7 days . So hear we go again , uni assessments to be done , lucky no exams . DS school on line and exams postponed , yet tomorrow his agriculture Rist program is on Zoom. DH will have to fit in as he is trying to finish planting the wheat . Opps DH Birthday on Sunday and we have no presents , just love and no dought  a cake . Thankfully my DM is at rest and we had such a caring loving time together at the end .
Life is getting very taxing but I’ll just have to keep those big boots on for awhile longer .

Yes, here we go again into lock down.  DH got home late last night, he had been attending a violin makers workshop with his colleagues up in Castlemaine that was scheduled to run until Sunday.  He was disappointed to have to come back so soon, but there was no choice.

Now we will start rushing around trying to get vaccinations today - I had booked them for later next week after DH had returned from his workshop ... now it's all on, we will try the hub near us then try the GP's surgery.

I feel so sad for so many people who will suffer badly for this lock down, but it seems to be the only way to stop this current wave.

Take care everyone.

Gosh life is crazy , off for DD to have Covid test this am , was quick and easy luckily.
Made some soup and DS on Zoom today for his agriculture work .DH stressed as he is trying to get the crop in . DD resting . Kitten quiet and well feed , it allowed me to hold it today . Friend dropped off a caters size sourdough loaf some pear and cardamom buns . 2/3 bread sliced and in the freezer . Cold trying to get DH to bring a heater up for DD that’s freezing in her iso room . Had a battle with Telstra 40 minute call ( while driving home from testing DD ) our land line is not working . I’m going to flop tonight I’d say .

Hang in there Victorian friends.
We came home today. A short break but still enjoyable. We ran into some incredibly heavy rain. The wipers were going on top speed and having trouble coping. At least the car and van got a bit of a wash.

This is where we camped last night. The rain was coming in as we left.
