Had friends over for our 'annual' get together.  Lovely time with them, but exhausting as my friend cannot stop talking and I was lagging in keeping up with her conversation.

Marina nice that you caught up with friends.
DD came home , after a long trip and crazy drivers out there . Great to have time together. It was warm yesterday so I managed to clean the damask Christmas table clothes and white serviettes ! Cherry marks on a lot . Thank full for a sunny day ! All white and bright . The washing machine went all day . Boys work clothes dried in hours so please as the weather has ment damp clothes for days . No wonder we are not harvesting .

Not a lot today. Just the usual. I must check where Chookie is on her cruise.

I was wondering about Chookie's current location this morning - where is she now?

I think they were in Auckland and will be going up the east coast of the north island of NZ back to Melbourne.

Sounds fantastic.  I am sure she is having a great time.  Looking forward to hearing about her travels.

All good intentions today but I kept saying I felt strange to DH . Then I had an up set tummy all arvo . DS came home and made mashed potatoes and severed up the chicken Kiev. I managed to eat it after having flat tonic water . Just tired now .

But better today . Helped DS mow the grass !! Well I  was picking up an old tractor sprinkler ( the orange one that you attach to to hose and it has three wheels , it goes back along the hose and sprinkles water ) and a baby tiger snake 🐍 was gaming off it ! Dropped and screamed to DS . He had ear muffs on !! Meanwhile I was trying to see where it went . Very good at camouflaging its self . Trapped with a spade ! Later on I thought my hand was itchy … then I was feeding the chooks and suddenly it dawned on me , I might have been bitten without realising. Ok so all good but DH did come home and check my hand ! There was a mark but we think more likely a mozzie , so put some cortisone cream on it . So silly I thought feeding the chooks and putting DS sheets on the line more important.. Happy 2024 !!

Not a good experience K Atie.

I did the food shopping this morning and waited over an hour this afternoon waiting to speak to someone at the bank.

Cookie, I find that the service at the bank is very poor these days.

We had a doctor's appointment this morning, all good.  Now we are on the waiting list for our shingles vaccination.

Yesterday DH had his cousins over to see the old family farm they grew up on ( long story ) . They had come out from England to see direct family . It was good as DMIL came out of hostel and all had morning tea . So funny as there was a lot more than who we expected, but that was great .DS had gone up to olds farm to mow whippet snip and vacuum etc ( he did an amazing job ) it was very warm and we were all very hot . Cleaned up DMILs  house again !! Men then decided to harvest ! So paddock dinner for them .

I went to the little Italina deli this morning. I go with the intention of buying 1 thing. Of course, I buy heaps. I love their marinated Fremantle sardines, so I bought some today.

All I’ve done was to fill out hospital forms for my upcoming cataract surgery in a few weeks’ time, so many questions for such a simple surgery. Relaxed after that watching the cricket.

Judy, those hospital questionnaires are nuts, aren't they.

Had a mad day yesterday - two lots of visitors - one lot for lunch (arrived late) which overlapped with our friends who were staying for the weekend (and who arrived early), the whole chaos was exacerbated late in the day when our septic tank either blocked, became full or there was a tree root blocking it; great time for that to happen.  Anyway, around 8.30 pm we found an emergency plumber (thanks to RACV's emergency home assist service) who is due out at 7.00 am this morning.  Fingers crossed that it is not too big a problem.

PS   hope you are all enjoying the new year and it is going smoothly for you all!!
