I have been really busy lately entertaining my cousins from the U.k. They have hit the jackpot staying here. They treat our house like a 5 * resort. They manage to spread their breakfast mess over 3 areas, inside dining area, outside side dining area & our entertainment area by the pool. We have plates, mugs, egg cups, cereal bowls, food etc left everywhere. They do not clean up aft themselves at all. They come home at 5.45 for dinner, sit at the table & do not  move until  us 3 are busy cleaning up. Then they take their wine & sit on the couch while we are cleaning up!! Anyway they have been away since wednesday and are back ths week.

Our cleaner came yesterday, she wanted to know why cps room was so dirty, I said my cousins.

Anyway I am going to toughen up, i have lr arriving wednesday & I cant look aft them & him. Not that I expected anything but they havent contributed either, no wine, not even a litre of milk.

This is why I havent been in here much, too bus being cleaner, cook & tryimg to be nice :)

My friends call it Hallys pamper package & spa all food & wine included.

 :)

Hope you made it to the party Katya.
Festival on today at the marina will maybe pop over at some stage. Not sure as we are attending the memorial for the young boy who drowned on the beach here last Sunday. It will be very sad  :(

Best wishes for the memorial MF. I'll be thinking of the family today.

Hally, you are very tolerant! I wouldn't have people like that in my house even if they were relatives >:( Good luck for when they come back this week.
Glad you had a great time at the footy :D

Thanks Amy  :)

It is hard when people come to stay and don't help in any way. We had SIL for 6 months with no help or contributions from her at all in any way. She was the worst out of many as we have been a halfway house for everyone who has come from the UK since we arrived in 1981.
Hopefully they will be gone soon Hally.

They fly out Easter Monday late afternoon.

They wont be back, they emailed me asking which dates suited us best.

Their beds are a mess, not washing their sheets, they can do it. I am over visitors atm.

The funeral for the young boy will be very sad.

Not long to go now Hally.
I honestly don't know how people can be this way when they are guests in someone's  home.
Lazy and ungrateful is how I would put it. From my experience the more you do the more they come to expect from you.
I could go on and on as this has happened to me many times.  DH and I have said never again.
In saying that my BF in Scotland can come anytime for as long as she wants. She comes and stays up to 8 weeks and helps around the house and buys wine and nibbles. She clears the table and loads and unloads the dishwasher as I do all the cooking and she helps with the washing and ironing.
You will be so glad to have your home back Hally

Nice introduction to the football, Hally! Wow factor that's for sure!

Will be good when you get your house and space back.... What a shame!!

MF ... Thoughts and prayers will be with you and that devastated family today... The most incredibly sad loss imaginable ... :(

I dont get it either. My first question is what can I do to help.

Their day starts at lunchtime, they potter all morning, he is on the internet, i am going to turn our router off when we go out so he cant use up all our download. I dont want to be buying top ups for them.

To be hoest I am not looking forward to their return, i have gone all mean (which isnt me) they have been eating fantastic food, just going to serve sausages & kebabs, salad which will be basic & not going to cook them deserts everynight. Of course will have to do a nice Easter meal.

Last weekend when I had to get flights organised for dh, clean up their breakfast & sort out cp, they did nothing & not even asked if they could help. They could see we were all stressed etc.

Oh the joys.

That's dreadful Hally only one more week to go.

Very sad MF, hope it goes off as well as it can.

DH and I are taking the family out for lunch as we will be away for Easter, we are getting together today.

Hope you have a lovely day with the family Michele.

I know exactly how you feel about going all mean Hally as I have felt that way too. It's shocking that people can reduce us to feeling this way.
Don't feel bad about it as you have extended the best hospitality possible and they have just taken everything for granted and expect you to be their cook, cleaner and tour guide all free of charge. Imagine the look of shock horror if you presented them with a bill on "check out"  :o

Yes it will be very sad for all but especially his family. I really feel for them returning to the beach where it happened  :(

Mich, have a lovely family meal out.

Cp is off to a cafe with friends for lunch after soccer, & we are off to the movies. Nice weekend for us.

MF, I would love to give them a bill, I am going to email, them to tell them to buy easter eggs for cp & lr. They gave cp a stick of rock from rottnest island & me a mug & toblerone bar, whoppie doo!

Cp asked them to buy a $2 raffle ticket for his school, they asked where the money was going, I said books for the school they said No.

Me Waving arms up in air with shock!!

That's a disgrace  >:(  How could they do that to a little boy especially when he is trying to raise money for the benefit of others.
How generous giving you a toblerone bar and a mug!!!!!
I know where I would tell them to put the stick of rock but I can't say it on this forum
I think you should open a bottle of bubbles when they leave and celebrate that they won't be coming back  ;D

My goodness Hally. You must be the MOST tolerant person in the world. I hate freeloading family. Hoping your week goes quickly.

Glad you enjoyed the footy. What a way to see it!

Kimmy, the footie was great, we all had a good time.

MF, poor dhs cleaning the kitchen up after dinner skills are obviously not up to standard, he got nothing. :o

Trying to be tolerant.

I just sent them an email, saying if your thinking of buying cp an easter treat please please buy one for lr.

I bet they had no intention, now they might have too. Lets hope so.

We have decided we are unable to take them to the airport, but dh has called you a taxi. :)

Hally I really feel for you. My story is from the other side. We stayed with friends over East ( no state in case they read this). They both worked so we said we will take care of all the chores. We bought and cooked all the food. Cleaned etc. when we went out we paid and bought the coffee etc. it cost us a fortune for the week and of course we bought them a very generous gift. About $200 value but something they wanted.
It would have been cheaper to park the van at a 4 star hotel and live and eat there.

MF I sympathise with you. When we lived in Broome we would have people knock on the door and say 'I am a friend of a friend of so and so' and they said you would put us up. Quite a few were told we had a full house, even though it looked empty.
I love visitors, but considerate ones.

I thought I would show you what my iPad has been coming up with. I think it may be trying to tell me something.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
