I cant remember who posted months ago that visitors were like fish lovely when fresh and three days was enough and became a bad smell.. Maybe it was CP. apologies if I got it wrong.
Can't you just say no and plead illness or possible (potential) insanity. LOL

I often ask my visitors ( if under 65)  to make the beds up for the next ones. I once asked this when we'd had a lot of people to stay in a bigger house when i had a bad back too and they'd been fed like kings, they said oh the bed is still clean ( after 2 night) and at home they didn't change their sheets between visitors. I'd never stayed with them but DH had and said he now he knew why he hated it. LOL

Today I shall cook a roast dinner of chicken. Tackle the utility room that has become extremely messy. When we moved here thinking it was very temporary I didn't fill the cupboards. 5 months on, still here and no sign of moving I must sort it out and put everything away.
Then more blanket making, should be finished in a few days.

Maybe make French bread and soup.  Tomorrows visitors have cancelled because of the snow. Understandable. I have lots of broccoli so will make broccoli and cheese soup for DH and without cheese for me.

Right, best get started!
See you later.

What horrible guests Hally- so inconsiderate.
I have to say that I 've been lucky enough to be on the other end of hospitality this weekend, and it was lovely to catch up with good friends who I've not seen for many years. They very kindly put me up for the weekend and collected me and deposited me to the airport. I've just got back from an overnight trip to Sydney for my school reunion. I had a lovely time at the reunion, and was pleasantly surprised by the number of girls that I remembered after such a long time. Even better though, was catching up with the family I stayed with and we spent today just chatting away. Best if all though, were the hugs and kisses I got from my family tonight:)

What a lovely time you had ES.

Well my cousins return soon, i am going to ask them to wash up & put away their breakfast plates etc. they obviously know where they go as they got them out.

To be honest I will just be pleased to get them out of the house. They are planning another visit but NO they wont be staying here. I am encouraging them to go on a full day trip on Easter Saturday, its early start & back about 7pm. We will eat dinner earlier, they can make sandwiches :D i will buy them a loaf od bread ;D ;Dlol

Hally I really feel for you, what horrible guests and who doesn't buy a $2 raffle ticket! I would definitely be asking them to pick up after themselves this time around.

Oh Hally!  Your good intentions in giving your cousins such a nice stay have been flung in your face!  I cannot get over the $2 raffle!!!! That is amazing.  Also the fact that they even asked what the money was going to.  A school raffle for goodness sakes. Terrible behavior on every level.

I couldnt ask them to leave, but  help yes, I will do this time.

Just going to say it straight, please can you clean up after yourselves, strip your bed when you leave etc. leave the kitchen how you find it etc.

Its horrible being so stressed in your own house, dh not happy that they are here for the long weekend. 4 days off worj & they are here, hooing they book the saturday day trip

Maybe they will opt to go on a few more day trips, they might not cope with lr, lol, i wont tell the kids to quieten down, up early etc, lol, they might even think a hotel is more suitable.

Just seen this OH Helly, that is just unfair, just for fun tell them you will come over and ,stay with them next year, 'as if you would', I bet they say they aren't set up for visitors.  I'm glad we are all here for you, a problem shared is half a problem ....well so they say...can't you email them and say you have been called away to look after a sick friend.   If they do come back I think your idea of letting the boys be boys is great invite a few more over,  ;D

Yes AB a problem shared, def helps to let off steam here :) oh they are coming back sadly this week. Boys up very early & sleeping next door, they are all upstairs, us down. So I am going to tell the boys its OK to get up at 7am, play wii etc. upstairs we have 2 bedrooms with a huge open plan living area & there sisthe wii & tv, it will distrub them. Normally I would tell the boys to read quietly

She is 58 & he is 64. Old enough to know better. Her mum was my fav aunt on my mums side, absolutely lovely, kind, caring, generous etc.
