Just call me farmer Dede
Today I saved a lamb from death, his mother was having problem giving birth so I had to pull the lamb out 😝. DH was away so I saved the day

Oh dede, good job!
This story is not for the squeamish or those who are pregnant...you have been warned!
That reminded me of when I was about 8 1/2 months pregnant with my first child. I was up the farm where I grew up checking the cows (who were calving) with my brother. We came to one who was in great difficulty and had to give her an oxytocin injection, and once she got going, we had to pull the calf. Pulling a calf is no mean feat and I was about as useful as tits on a bull (my brothers words) at that stage. I was overly emotional and just wanted to hold the poor cows hoof and tell her when to breathe. Wasn't going down very well with my brother...
So we finally had 2 feet out, attached chains to them and the ute, and at the right time in her contractions gently pulled. Finally the calf was born. No neo-nate unit for her, it was "here it is love". And off we go. With me feeling very ordinary.
What seemed like months later (about 3 weeks or so - she was overdue) I was in hospital attempting to have a baby and it wasn't going well. Doc comes in and says "right we'll have to give her an oxytocin injection". I went through the roof saying that in no uncertain terms was I a cow and no way was I going to have the same stuff I had recently helped my brother inject into a cow. By that stage all I could picture was my brother rolling the ute in with chains hooked up ready to go!! The doc and nurses thought my story was a ripper and invited the rest of the nurses on the floor, half the cleaners and a couple of gardeners into the birthing suite to hear my rant! The room was packed, the baby was not coming out, I was totally over it by then and asked if there were any cooks in the building that wanted to come watch the show as well.
Needless to say it wasn't an easy birth for this cow either!!

Wasn't as good as previous years. We tasted everything. I spent way too much money. Uni showed great restraint.
I bought some Riedel stemware that I have been after for ages - they didn't have it at the show but ordered it for me and still got the 20% off and free shipping.

Lovely photos Michele and sounds like you and Uni had a lovely day.
We are getting ready to go to Port Douglas. Breakfast then taking dogs to DD and cat to the vet for boarding.
Flight 12.25 so plenty of time.
