Just to cheer you up, Chookie, I copied this this morning

MELBOURNE looks set to shiver through its longest November cold snap in more than 20 years.

The city hasn't hit 20 degrees since Friday and isn't forecast to top that until Sunday.

Senior weather bureau forecaster Peter Blake says that would make it a nine-day cold stretch not seen since 1989.

"At this time of year, to have an extended run of below 20, obviously doesn't happen that often," he said.

Isolated showers, overcast skies and highs of 16 to 19 degrees are forecast for the rest of the week.

But the cloud is expected to clear on Sunday for a mostly sunny afternoon with a high of 21, rising to 23 on Monday.

"So there is relief in sight," Mr Blake said.

Thanks for the forecast Marina. We are enjoying the cool. We actually checked the weather before we left and have brought closed in shoes and a jacket. I prefer the cool than hot.

We've had a lovely day. Spoiled at breakfast in the hotel. Then we went out to Bridge Road and got a lot of underclothes at Bendon. Walked down to Swan st and each bought a pair of shoes. ( DD bought 2). Caught a tram back and had a coffee and a piece of fruit. Later went to high tea at Hopetoun Tea Rooms. What a lavish high tea. We were really full so we walked up to Hill of Content bookstore, then back down to Reader's Feast. DD bought books at each.
I think dinner will be a bowl of soup!

YUM Cookie that looks fantastic.

We just had a very quick 40 points in a thunderstorm, could have done without the hail although it was fascinating for DS 5 & 6, I had to venture out to collect some.

I always fancied going to the Hopetoun tearooms for afternoon / morning tea, but never made it.  It all looks delicious.

We used to go to hopetoun tea rooms as kids with Mum and my grandmother, it was a real treat. I love that it still looks the same now as it did back then. Mum says it was the same when she was in her early 20's working in the city.

Glad you are having fun and enjoying the cool weather.
