Good to hear that you've gotten over your gastro, MF. Margaret River sounds good :)

Went out this morning to Ludlow to collect a water pump. Had elevenses in a wonderfully old fashioned tea room with wobbly floors and delicate un matching bone china.
Painted the main bathroom ceiling this after noon while DH drained and filled in the water pipe trench.
Roast beef tonight and choc soufflé pudding recipe by farfallina.

Watched pirates of the Caribbean tonight on the T V and also the antiques roadshow where a painting cost £400 and turned out to be a van dyke worth £400,000!

You sound like you've had a very productive day DJ. I want to find one of those treasures! I once knew a girl who bought a $20 necklace from a market. She actually gave a bead a little bite before she bought it cos she knew the trick, and sure enough it was actually a pearl necklace that in fact was worth over $1000 (that was over 30 years ago) so it would be worth abit more in todays market.

Well the rubbish is collected tomorrow so today I cleaned out the fridge, tidied it up. Not much to throw out at all. Then the pantry was cleaned out of all the bits and pieces I know I will never use. Freezer had a few bits of I know not what but is now a lovely mixture of dog food and near empty of BITS!

Checked all my T2 caddies and found some all but empty. Collated them into my iced tea thingy so cooling a combo tea in fridge. Win!

Cleaned the coffee machine and descaled it.

So feel good for the start of the new year.

Now I am going shopping for a turnip. I doubt I will find one but I will try.

Glad to hear that you are relaxing MF and doubly glad to hear you are both feeling much better.  What a terrible time to hit you, you have a lot to make up for now and I hope you stay well into the New Year.

Good luck finding the turnip Gretchen, good to see you are buying something to fill up the fridge again  ;)

My DD got a melting snowman from her sister for Xmas cookie, she loves it.
Spent all day yesterday in the car, driving home from Adelaide. Started late so didn't get home until 9pm - loooong day! First thing this morning had to go out for milk & bread so we could have breakfast, forgot to get some on the way home. Then unpacking, washing, a huge grocery shop as fridge & cupboards were bare, took the dog for a walk.
Feel absolutely knackered now, think this past week is catching up with me, also coming down with a cold..... worth it though :)
Might just read for the rest of the afternoon, I'm on holidays after all!

There is not one turnip to be had in Cairns and probably no where in Queensland. Settling for a mix of carrot and a $5 parsnip for my fake neeps.

Gert you have inspired me. I am going to tidy out the theatre. It gets all sorts of junk put in there. If someone calls all the junk is gathered up and put on the chairs in there. Christmas has really done it in.

The theatre is now all tidy. Rubbish thrown out and other junk put in cupboards.

May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
