How very exciting for Don. He was very brave.

Lovely photos Maddy. A pity a fire had to be there. Your DH is a very good man to be a volunteer firey.
Your fires over east are horrid. Please take care everyone and keep safe.

Don will have plenty to talk about now, he's braver than me Michele.  I'm glad he enjoyed it.

Mcmich, glad to hear that your DH enjoyed his flight.  I would love to do that but I am not brave enough. :D

Went to have my hair cut this morning only to find that my appointment is for this afternoon. :-))

What have I been doing; I went to the dentist and the needle is still wearing off and I don't feel like cooking anything tonight; might have to be a smoothie and hope there is something in the freezer for DH.

That sounds good Troupie. Eggs on toast or scrambled eggs. Hope your mouth feels better tomorrow.

I need a trip to the dentist soon as I broke a piece off my tooth a couple of weeks ago.  I am terrified of them and so keep putting it off.

Dentists are much better now than when we were kids Margaret.  Be brave and get it fixed before decay sets in  ;)

I'm terrified of them too. I also keep breaking my teeth. I go every 6 months so that when I ring in desperation with what remains of a tooth they will squish me in to be seen. I remind them several times during every visit that I am a big scaredy cat.  I think it comes from the childhood memories of school dentists when they would say, "oh you are a big girl, you don't need an Injection. ". Talk about cruelty to children.

I have to admit I never go unless I am desperate.  I am sure you will find my finger nail imprints under the arms of the dentist chair.

School dentists have a lot to answer for, I have several bad memories of them.

We all remember our early dentist experiences, they were so cruel.  Mum was told to get me out of there and to bring me back when I could behave myself.  Seeing all those pieces of equipment hanging from the ceiling started me screaming.  Maybe it was just me, when the doctor came on a home visit, I hid under the bed or ran down the back yard and climbed the lemon tree  :-))  Everyone told me I was a buggar of a kid.

Lots of bad dentist stories. We are so lucky to have a dental unit at JCU here. State of the art and all for free with your pension card but anyone can book and pay a modest  fee. Absolutely wonderful. Of course you get a student and they are slow but through. The professor is at hand.

I have always thought the needle was worse than the minimum pain and that it was more for the dentist than the patient. I have never had a needle since I was an adult and always tell them that  I know they will be quick and they usually are.
