So sorry to hear your news, Mich.  It is so nice that he had a good life, though.  Condolences to you both.

Sadly, we are in a similar situation - the 30 year old son of a friend passed away from a blood clot so we are going over on Monday - The airlines are a real rip off, Melbourne, Wellington, Melbourne return is near enough $1,900.00!  Probably would have been cheaper had I scoured the internet, but no time for that.  I really resent the charges, but there is little choice.

I agree with you about airfares. We really get ripped off here in australia but if we want or need to travel unfortunately  we have to pay the overpriced fares.

My heartfelt condolences to you and your DH, Mich and Marina to you and yours.  It is always sad to lose a loved one and even sadder for one so young.  Disappointing to have to pay that sort of money for airfares under those circumstances.
