Very clever CC
Great news Suzanne, you will appreciate being home  :)

Today I did my normal housework, then did some cooking - trying to get a few meals into the freezer before the school holidas so i get to spend most of the time with the girls  :-*
:D

Great idea Astarra, I used to do the same when my kids were young.  I loved the school holidays, it's nice to have that break from routine.

Denise, it's lovely to see an update on your squab cushion, so much work has gone into it, you just be quietly pleased with you efforts.

Grandparents Day at school today, missed out visiting last year due to illness so it was nice to be part of it today.  Their concert was the best one I've seen so far.  Went to GS's classroom first up, he had heaps of things to show me plus I had to do a 'find the word' exercise, he couldn't believe how quickly I finished that little project.  Onto GD's room and as she's in Grade 6 and will be in their college section next year she was allowed to accompany me to afternoon tea, the kids wait impatiently for that year to come around. I was with her for 5 minutes and she was ready to go to afternoon tea LOL.  Scones are provided by Bakers Delight and are huge & delicious.  My DD was on scone/beverage duty so it was nice to catch up with them all today.

I was going to call into Harbour Town as it's on my route home but it started to rain so I drove right by, probably a good thing!

That sounds so lovely Judy. DD was lucky, if she could give my parents enough warning they would always try to come to the city for Grandparents day. DH's folks were always too shy to attend. It gives the kids such a thrill.
Save Harbour Town for another day. I remember going there when we visited you.

Judy, it is  good that you were able to make it to GP day.  The kids really love it.
Back to Invermay this morning. Have packed the van with another load.
Visitors for lunch tomorrow so better get moving.

Sounds like you had a good day with the GC Judy.  We only have two GC left in primary school now so still have a couple of more GP days to attend.

We had a run for the old car yesterday. It was about 200km all up. We left home about 8 and didn't get back until nearly 5. It was great fun, although rather chilly early on and then coming home again.

I won't mention the benefits of an (artificially) air conditioned car, Cookie!  200 km sounds like a good day's outing.

Yesterday, I joined a group of friends to celebrate the 70th birthday of one of the girls. We had a brunch in an ocean side cafe, and sat outside on the decking facing the ocean. It was a lovely sunny day but cold. They had outdoor heaters turned on so it was cosy. I had A dish similar to Quirky Jo!s Heuvos Rancheros without the beans, instead it had small meat slices of beef, 2 cooked eggs in the sauce and a Roasted eggplant & tahini mash, served with some sour dough bread. Very tasty indeed.

Cookie, that does sound like fun, but do enjoy the heated seats and air conditioning.
Kat, what a lovely day.  Like the sound of your dish for lunch.
We had a quick dash around the shops yesterday, Officeworks, Bunnings and Aldi.

We finally sold our NIssan Patrol 4WD at the weekend.  The previous buyers backed out at the last minute,  A young man who knew it was for sale contacted us and agreed to buy it and gave a deposit.

This morning I tidied and rearranged my pantry.  Made some stock from a chicken carcass and then made a cottage pie for tomorrows dinner.

Visited the PO to post some letters. The husband and wife who run it have been very helpful to us.  I gave them a jar of Marmalade. You would have thought that they had won Tatts Lotto.
Bought a large Tarp from Bunnings to cover the whole of the chook cage and run. The poor things were wet and cold yesterday.
