That is nice of you Chookie. He will be very happy to receive them.

I haven't done a lot today. DD and a friend braved it out to a restaurant today. They had their booking put back by half an hour because the previous people wouldn't leave. When they got in there the place was very crowded. They are both very conscientious of the social isolating which is still on here. They asked the manager about it and she said she wouldn't do anything about it. When the girls said they would leave, she asked where they worked, naturally the reply was Health. I think the poor woman will now be expecting a visit from the Health department. ;D ;D ;D ;D The girls didn't report it, simply went elsewhere.

My silver lining today is the fact that DD had the courage to speak up at the restaurant.

My silver lining today was when we got our delivery of small goods, the man said the pot of jam I gave his son at last delivery, made his sons day.
A second silver lining , a neighbour shared her lemon yogurt cake with us and I gave her some Quince jelly.

A terrific idea Marina and quickly taken onboard by everyone posting so far.
I’ve already posted my silver lining story in another thread ie a visit from Katie, not knowing this was here at the time.
Actually I had a very busy day with people calling in for one reason or another.  My gardener rocked up with his neighbour and a chain saw to slice through a previously felled palm tree, take the logs away and cleaned up all the sawdust (my neighbour cut it down months ago and goodness knows when he was going to finish the job).  My gardener came back a little while later to plant some cannas he’d removed from one of his other clients’ gardens, another bare spot filled.

DH Birthday yesterday and DS made another baby Dutch pancake for him . We decided to go out for a takeaway coffee as a birthday treat ! DH put on good clothes he said it felt strange to do so and be out . Saw a friend there too . The boys were not going to get out of the car , but DH with Cam boot and crutches did so . Mind you it was so cold and so windy . We got something to eat and packed the car with a view . Home the long way , through the mountains, a few cars parked that were doing walks . Home , I joined a zoom virtual thermo cook ( they are free still ). Visited MIL for sponge B’day cake ! We ventured inside , no way could we stay outside blowed away . Poor MIL , we spent ages fixing things ,light bulbs , DVD , computer issue not solved and her iPad is not working so DS has now got it to try to fix . DS got loads of wood . Then we had to fix a huge shead doors on the farm as the wind can damage them ! They are enormous if not jammed shut with pegs they can fly off . Home to a simple meal and that baby sponge cake much later on . DH had a great day .

K ATIE that sounds like a very full day for DH Birthday.
We also went out for a drive as I needed  some more potatoes from a local farmer.  He has an honesty box beside the road.  He was filling it as we arrived.  Said these would be the last for this season.  RAL made takeaway coffee and we drank it beside a lake. Lots of lambs in the paddocks.

What a lovely birthday for DH Katie.
We also went for a drive, to the Hunter Valley. It was a lovely day and was great to look at the cows and the vine yards. There were some cellar doors open and The Smelly Cheese shop was open. Didn't go in as it was quite crowded. We sat in the grounds at Tempus Two Estate and had a picnic.

Today’s silver lining is that a friend said he got a negative result for a COVID-19 test  :) ; however the only problem is that he has never had a COVID test and the results were for someone called Sayeed.  The good thing is that it is a negative result, but Sayeed, whomever he may be, may never know!

A quick trip to the green grocer this morning.  I only had 1 potato left and DH has requested a baked potato for his dinner.

My silver lining for the day was that the NBN man came to fix my internet problem.  Down side is that it isn't fixed.  I've reported it again.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

;D ;D ;D ;D That was a bit of an oops. Sayeed will have to chase up his results. Bit of a breach of confidentiality.

Oh, Margaret, this certainly dragging on. Was it working when they tested it?

Margaret what a damn nuisance. Keep hounding them.
My silver lining for today is that the recipe to use up the mashed potato was so successful.
