We went outside to play after school and never came in  until dark.

Well I remember that once a whole bunch of us neighbourhood kids were playing hide and seek quite late, maybe 8 PM, when we decided to teach a cheater a lesson by making him hide then we all went home. I guess that was bullying.

I can remember our first Remote Controlled VCR. The remote was attached to a long cord that plugged into the VCR.

I remember watching The Lone Range on a small round screen TV my father won  in a poker game.

I remember my next door neighbour's TV was colour - they had a red screen on top of their black and white TV!

We played outside until dark too.

Living in the bush, though, I think I'd go nuts without the internet and mobile phone. It was OK when the kids were little, but now they're grown up and semi-left home I use both to keep in touch.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
