You are doing so well Dede what a great loss this week,
Amy great news. Lots of work ahead but you can do it.
I want a fitbit, but my pedometer isn't that old. I am doing between 5000 and 6000 steps a day, aiming to increase by 500 steps each week. I've had two knee replacement.
I lost 600g this week pretty happy with that.

Thanks jeninwa :)
You are doing really well, 600g is a good loss. Every little bit adds up ;) ;)

Jeninwa 600g is also a great loss. I'm hoping to loose 500 g a week, but any loss is great. I have upped my exercise this week which is helping drop the weight.

That's great jeninwa, it must be difficult after having knee replacements to get the exercise in. Could you maybe do some swimming?

I have created a forum thermomix Fitbit group if anyone who has their fitbits wants to join in our own little group for the weight loss challenge. I have sent an invite to those who have given me their email addresses. I think their is 5 of us so far?

I have been walking, walking, walking to get my 10,000 steps for the day and I've climbed 25 sets of stairs. I already know what I've lost so far, but it will be 1 week on Saturday since I got my scales linked up and I've got my fingers crossed...

Wow CP. what a great effort. The only way I can get stairs in is walking up hills. No stairs around here. Saturday is weigh day for you then :)

Here is a nice little acronym for everyone to think about:

D-I-E-T
D is for deprivation - just thinking about a diet, let alone going on one, can make us feel deprived.
I is for impressive - because diets can create impressive weight loss in the short term.
E is for enery sapping - because they drain us of our emotional and physical energy.
T is for temporary - because this is all most people achieve on a diet: a temporary change.

This came from a book I'm reading called "If not dieting, then what?" by Dr Rick Krausman. Its a fantastic book.

Sounds interesting Amy, and I can't agree more, I don't like the word diet at all, and I don't believe I'm on a diet but a lifestyle change. And this is the first time that I actually feel confident with getting healthier and keeping it that way. Really the only thing that has changed for me is eating less crap so often and swapping it for a healthier alternative, that and moving more. I have always been pretty active, but I'm pushing that a little further now to burn more calories to achieve my goals :D
