Its scarey when you pick up something heavy and then think about the equivalent that you are carrying on your body.  I picked up an 8 kilo bag of dog food the other day and then realised that seven months ago I was carrying around on my joints the equivalent of nearly three large bags of dog food.  Going back to my "bad" way of eating the last couple of weeks has probably not helped with my insomnia and fatigue...the last thing I want to do is put those bags of dog food back on.  I'm determined to lose those last "three bags of dogfood".

Girls, it will feel amazing :D :D

It takes a long time to get used to it though ;)

Lol I have an idea for you! Add up all the number of kg each of you want to lose, and then find something that weighs approximately the total. So, if you collectively want to lose 60kg, find something that usually weighs that amount and then you can say "me and my forum buddies lost a penguin!" ;D ;D

Disclaimer: I don't actually know if penguins weigh 60kg :-))

I have added that to the first post Stacelee that you want to loose 3 bags of dog food :D
Yes when you compare what you want to loose to other items it can be quiet scary.

the key to any weight loss is to look at is as a lifestyle change for the better, focusing on becoming healthier.
The moment we theink of the word "DIET", we begin to feel deprived , or that we must restrict everything we love to lose weight.

So often we think of losing weight or following an eating plan as having a time frame, - if we look at it as changes to our lifestyle forever - rather than just for a specific time or until a certain function, or until we fir back into that special dress etc etc, that can make a real difference to not putting those extra kilos on again.

I lost 16.5 kilos 8 years ago, ( by doing weight watchers)  and have kept it off for all of those years, as ii neverfelt that i had to miss out on anything.
I have just recently manged to put back on about 4 kilos, only really due to the fact that i have become a bit lazy, stopped menu planning and gone back to a few old habits, such as mindless eating, and having portions that are way too big.

So  - i would love to join your challenge and get a bit of control back.

I don't really need to lose weight but I do feel flabby. Any ideas on how to get trim, taut & terrific when you can't get to a gym?

Good luck to you all. I'm slowly loosing weight I didn't realise I had even put on and it's amazing how much better you feel. I've always been on the slimmer side and have never needed to diet but a few kgs had slipped on that I hadn't even noticed (we don't own scales). As a few others have said it really needs to be a lifestyle change and include exercise to ensure you don't feel deprived. I changed to the green smoothie for breakfast, watch my portion sizes (sometimes) and added one session a week with a personal trainer in addition to my regular exericise. I'm happy with these small changes and don't really need to loose anymore weight but I'm pretty sure with the changes I've made I will continue to loose a few more kgs but very slowly. I could never give up my weekly wines, potato chips or deep fried foods!

Is there a link to the green smoothie? Or which recipe book it is in?
