You're not weighing yourself everyday are you Mandi?
Remember there are a lot of things in the body that can affect the number on the scales, so don't get too disheartened if it fluctuates a bit. Water is a prime culprit for making your weight go up and down

No I'm not weighing my self every day Amy, I know my weight can change from one day to another. I just jumped on the scales today to see if the cake had made any difference
I won't weigh myself again now till Wednesday.

Thats good
I know how deflating it can be when you're trying really hard to lose weight and it doesn't change on the scales. I actually cried a few times when that happened to me on my weight loss journey
My weigh-day is Sunday. I just check to make sure I'm not creeping back up
Glad to hear your getting into the exercise too Mandi

I'm more than happy to share my story, while admitting that I have put back 6 kg. I am short and weighed a heck of a lot. It wasn't affecting my health and I had tried WW and lots of other things and I never kept the weight off. I am still not my ideal weight but I am happy as I am, which is still chubby, but a lot better than before.
When the first CSIRO book came out a friend had just paid over $700 to eat seeds. I decided then that I would do it for less than that. I bought the book and we followed the plan religiously for the set 12 weeks. It made shopping easy and cooking easy as it was all planned. The 3 of us did it. I didn't tell anyone else other than DH and DD. At the end of this time I had lost about 7 or 8 kg. I was inspired. I then went on to follow the plan roughly in my day to day eating. I have high fibre cereal and juice for breakfast. Fruit for a morning snack, small amount of protein and heaps of salad for lunch with 2 slices of bread. Dinner is protein and lots of vegies. Mid afternoon snack is fruit. I have yoghurt for sweets.
Of course I now have the odd slice of cake and as I have put on 6kg it is more than the 'odd slice.' I have kept most of this weight off for about 4 or 5 years. I'm always scared of relapsing into my old habits of eating everything that is not nailed down.
It is ever so hard to lose weight and ever so easy to put it on.
Hope I didn't bore you to death. DON'T go and have a muffin.

You have done really well Cookie and thank you for sharing your story with us - not at all boring to hear success stories.

Yo have done extremely well Cookie to loose it and keep most of it off. That's the biggest challenge is to keep it off. We have all been there and done that. Loose weight without to much effort, then put it all on plus more without even realizing.
My plan is to loose it and keep it off

Thank you for sharing, cookie
I'll never get bored of the stories from anyone on this forum, not even Robyn and her lemon tree!
That CSIRO eating plan sounds like it is actually quite balanced. Is it something you think you could maintain for life if you could get rid of that "eat everything thats not nailed down" habit?

I follow the CSIRO plan all the time now Amy. It has become part of my life. I still wonder around Christmas or birthdays if I'll get back onto it but I have for the last 4-5 years so hopefully it will stick. I could so very easily move back to eating everything again. But then I remember that I can now buy clothes in Myer and Suzanne Grae (my favourite shop).

I'm just on the border of normal clothing again, I'm a size 16 in big w and a 16/18 in target. I haven't tried Myers etc yet because I'm hoping to get more weight off so don't want to spend a lot on clothes....I also still have heaps stashed in the cupboard that were way too small that fitted (17 years ago
