I've lost just over 30kg now since last since the end of October last year by moderating my carbs.  I still eat them but I pick and choose what I eat.  I am also now walking between 10000 to 18000 steps a day and eating between 1200 and 1500 calories so it all combines.  The main reason I moderate my carbs is that I seem to be sensitive to them and they trigger binges and cravings.

Weigh in for me today. A day late because I was away yesterday morning.  I gained .0.6kg. I have to say I was a bit surprised. I thought I had been pretty good this last week and at least expected to stay the same. Oh well I guess I ned to tighten up the diet a bit more.

Just remember that carbs are the ONLY nutrient your brain can use for energy, so you still need a good amount. Just pick the low-GI carbs and go easy on the fats that are often added (butter with bread, creamy sauce with pasta, etc.) ;)

I reduced my carbs when I became serious about losing weight, but the carbs I cut out were all the junk carbs like biscuits, cakes, chocolate, lollies, etc. I still eat healthy complex carbs such as oats, barley, rye and quinoa.

Exercise is another huge factor in health and weight loss of course, but diet is the main thing.

Nice of you to pop in Stacelee, I wondered why we hadn't heard from you for a while :)

Bummer :( Its even worse when you're not expecting it because you think you've done well for the week.

Dd I am really pleased with it. It has been fantastic all round and I am feeling like I have a lot more energy, having lost weight and toned up a bit and it is only 1/3 of the way through!

My DD is saying the same things.  She is fairly confident in meeting her goal and is talking about signing up for the next round just to make sure that she doesn't slide back into old habits.

No weight loss for me today :(
But I have been pretty slack with the walking. Back to normal next week when the kids are back at school :D

For those of you wanting a fit bit -the price has come down. There is a new smaller version marketing for $70, and the fit bit ultra is down to $99 as a new model is due out in November. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2012/09/fitbits-new-cheap-anti-lazy-gadgets-are-adorable/

That's great Meagan,
No weight loss for me again this week, I need to get back on track and push myself a little harder I think.

That's great Meagan, no loss for me this week either, and no gain so that's even better.
