Amy in Sydney you have to do 100 or 110 hours
It's 120 hrs. 20 hrs have to be night driving and if you are under 25 then you have to have your "L's" for at least 12 months.

So glad here in WA liek Amy said it's only 25hrs, it doesn't sound like much but when DD was doing her hours DH and DD would go for long drives on the weekends to nowhere and by the end of the 6mrths both were starting to get a little tired of each others company  ;D

I think the more hours and experience the better. My DH fudged his daughters night hours which I think is so wrong.
One thing in NSW, if you have a driving instructor take you out then your 1 hour equals 3hrs up to ten lessons.

In 'the olden' days we actually got our license on the day we turned 17. Then we were on probation for 12 months but didn't have p plates or anything like that.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I agree with you there DFM. I would rather have lots of practice and be a really safe driver. But its really expensive for young students to pay for their permit, a car, insurance, etc, and then have to buy gallons of fuel to cover all the hours :(

It is expensive Amy and DH wouldn't fudge the hours so they bonded a lot  ;D

We paid for her to get her licence and lessons for her 18th birthday present and she had bought her car after saving since she was 13

My mum is a better driver than SD, so she will be coming driving with me ;D

And I sure hope she doesn't offer to pay for more lessons for my 18th birthday present. That would be very boring. I would rather pay for them myself ;)

It worked out well for us all,she didn't need nor want anything more than her license so win,win for us ;D
Whats on your list for your 18th Amy?
We are stumped for DD's 21st next year it gets harder because they start buying everything they want themselves  :-))

Nice jewelry. My parents had a necklace made (I chose the setting and chain) for my 21st and I still wear it everyday.
