That is a gorgeous story JD. You should rent a something sporty and red for a weekend and take it cruising. Bet you would still get plenty of looks and wolf whistles.

Ha ha Michele, not a bad idea.  I'd certainly get plenty of looks but probably a few shaking of the head looks too.  They'd just think I was a silly old woman with too much money and laugh at me.

Not at all JD. How many 60yr old men are out there driving sleek and sporty. Us girls can should be doing the same. 

For heavens sake my DH at 53 wants a PT Cruiser. Just the novelty factor.

I knew a young girl once who bought a sports car with her property settlement.  In it's day, that was a very rare thing - something men did but not women. Times have changed though Michele and you are probably right - quite acceptable.

In my day and state lol .. We got Ls at 16, one and only Ps at 17 and full licence at 18.. Sounds more involved now 😳😳😳 the book thing sounds like a pain.. How would they be able to prove or disprove any of it anyway.. Only so many street cams around 😉?

Kim, thats why we have to have the log book for 6 months... not just until we reach 25 hours And we have to be signed off by our supervising drivers

My mind is prob a bit more devious.. Is the supervising driver your mum or an instructor?? Or just anyone with a full licence??

A supervising driver can be anyone who's had their license for 5 years and isn't in the bad books of the police

it really is a good idea the log book and hours,  dh made dd drive in all sorts of weather conditions and on all sorts of road surfaces and she is a very good confident driver

Nothing like drawing attention to yourself Amy    I haven't seen one of those around but there are becoming more and more gopher type models around with our aging population.

Soon you will probably be able to get them with reversing cameras, sat-nav, bluetooth, air conditioning... Just imagine what you've got to look forward to Judy!
