Do you rinse the suds off hand washed dishes?
« on: July 02, 2012, 06:55:10 am »
We had this discussion at home about rinsing the suds of hand washed dishes in clear water. I now that some friends don't do that and I'm wondering why this is so.

I ALWAYS rinse my dishes. I find that if you leave the suds on them, they leave little sticky patches when the dishes dry. And especially in glasses or mugs, it makes the next drink taste soapy :-X

I have friends who don't rinse their dishes and I can't understand it. Maybe they can't taste soap. Or they like it. I dunno :-))

If I'm handwashing I let dishes drain straight from the sink, and will only rinse if I can see suds. Of course I ALWAYS rinse my TM as its my pride and joy  ;)

I have learned that I can hand wash my fine china and crystal, put them in the dishwasher with NO detergent and run the "Quick" wash cycle - 12 minutes - to rinse them thoroughly and then I dry them by hand.

This way there is no residual soap (which seems to attract dust) and there are no water spots.

No I don't rinse the dishes. DH does the washing up and uses minimal suds.
