Yes Mich. When I first found out just after it happened it was extremely upsetting, then reading about it again wasn't much fun.

Loved The Dry by Jane Harper. Read Commonwealth by Ann Pattchett -not so great , The State of Wounder is her best book ever so beautify written . I am Trying to read Dark Emu by Bruce Pascoe , not getting very far as it is social history , general non fiction book . It is a book club one as is Shinning the Story of a lucky Man by Abdi Aden and Robert Hillman , Hillan has written a few refuge books , one that I loved was The Rugmaker - Mazar-E-Sharif . I enjoyed Shinning once I got into it , another real life storyt that makes our lives almost too cosy compared to the hardship and trauma of these two lives  . Our Souls At Night by Kent Haruf , is a light short read about so much love of two warm elderly people you can't help but feel good inside . Haruf the author has passed away before the book was published , lost of a great writer . OK looks like am reading a lot when I re read this , cooking and reading passions are not so bad really .

You have been busy reading K Atie. I love reading too. I've just finished the latest JD Robb. Death in somewhere or other. I'm reading an Alex Kava book at the moment. I haven't read one for a while and had forgotten that they are a bit over the top. It's an easy read though.

I enjoyed The Forgotten Garden. I read Maralina by Judy Nunn for book club, I enjoyed that. I've also read a couple of romance novels and need to start Monkey Grip for book club. This afternoon I picked up The French Perfumer, so I will read that first.

I'm reading Dearest Folks. Will be of no interest to any of you here. It's about a couple that went to The New Hebrides in the 50's and built housing and was a mid wife delivering babies. Horrie and Margaret had a baby girl Judith. The part I love most was when they were on the ship and impressed that there was a baby bath next to the toilet, only to discover it was a bidet.  :o

I've just finished Fatal Mistake and before that I read The Son in Law by Charity Norman. I enjoyed both. Now I'm reading Dear Banjo. I'm enjoying it as it is set in the Kimberley.

Not reading but listening on audible while I am driving. The suspect by Michael Robotham. This was his first book written around 2004.  It is gripping once you get about 1/3 of the way in.

He started as a journalist, then ghost wrote 15 autobiographies, a few of which won critical acclaim. When he should his agent the outline and few rough chapters of this book and his agent shared it with some publishers at the London book awards a bidding war ensued for the publishing rights.

There is good interview with him by Richard Fidler.

Just getting starting on The Handmaid's Tale
I've just watched the TV series here Marina. They are going to make a second series next year. I found it very difficult to watch some of the episodes.
