My favourite cookbooks at the moment are the Ladies A Plate and the A Second Helping, More from Ladies a Plate.  They are NZ cookbooks that have some lovely baked goods in them and they have the history of each recipe to go with the recipe.  Lovely to read and the recipes I've made have all worked beautifully....I love the hokey pokey biscuits.

I just saw on Sunrise two guys have made a music video about Shades of Grey. Making money is what it is about. Very funny.

I'm partial to Elmo, Cookie Monster and Oscar. n fact I love them to bits. They are so cute. I haven't taken to watching Sesame Street though. ;)

LOL Marina, I always wondered what that phrase meant :-))

I suppose packing them all individually gives someone something to do as well ;)

LOL.

This is now a very interesting thread. I too love the no I detective agency books Megan.

Plus it's obvious we have less time for books as we are on here so much ( speaks for self).

On money saving grounds I stopped buying new novels, and that changed my choice. I do get new books at Xmas, but then I don't usually choose them.
I did buy a new book on propagation of plants by the RHS though.

I know what you mean DJ, the price of books is ridiculous! But for me its an addiction. I've got two bookshelves nearly full which would have cost a couple of thousand $$ over the years. I have my Sherlock Holmes collection which cost me $60 alone :o But I love Sherlock, so he was worth the money ;)

Having a Kindle saves money and space. Back in the old days I used to waste time every time I picked my book up trying to find exactly where I was up to. The Kindle opens up at the page you left off on. I also find the light on the case is very unobtrusive for mid night reading and if reading on a plane etc (not that I travel a lot)
