Not a celebration cake but one for a party. Compared to some on here it is very plain.

Martha Stewart's yellow celebration cake recipe made in kenwood mixer. A sponge mix with added milk. Baked in two tins and split in half.
Cream cheese frosting. Cake frozen for ease of handling and assembled while frozen. Fridged  overnight to harden icing.

4 layers of cake, two with fresh cut strawbs and frosting,  centre one with strawb jam and frosting.

Ummm. excuse me! I don't think so, DJ!!  If it's not a celebration cake, it sure looks like a cause for a celebration!!  It looks fabulous!!  Thanks for the tips on the freezing/refigeration etc. . . . have made a note of that!!  (I'm a rank amateur in the cake making dept - come to think of it, in a lot of other depts. too!! ;D ;D)
