They are really harmless creatures. Very placid, quite intelligent. My husband found a big blotchie in the bush, wrapped a cloth around it brought it back to us for a pat. After we all gave it some love, he drove it back to where he found it and he was quite happy. They are truly lovely pets. They live for about 25 years as well so great bonding.
We have 2 dogs, a blue and a red heeler and 8 chooks.

Very handsome Cowley! We have not long ago let our blue-tounge lizard go.  :(  He got so friendly so quickly, a big one at 16.5" long.... :)  The girls loved him.

Blue-tounges can.... but only if they feel frightened by you! Ours bit DH once but never even attempted to bite the girls or me.  :D
They do make great pets!  :)
