Copied recipes
« on: August 22, 2012, 04:17:31 pm »
Am I being a little precious?   ???
http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/recipes/chorizo-and-capsicum-risotto/51870

Although there is a couple of slight alterations, it's almost verbatim of my recipe and instructions I posted here

Got the better of me and I commented.
What do you think?

LOL...yes, using my photo was overstepping the mark  :o
Will be interesting to see if the link to this forum remains  ;)
It just bugged me a little....if I make a variant of someone's recipe, I acknowledge it.

I reckon when you know that people blatantly copy your recipe you really get cheesed off, even though its supposed to be the highest form of a compliment. I mean --- out of all the recipes in the world... I've had that too on that website and I will never post again and never go on it again cos its cheesy and in my opinion its pathetic. They should check for authenticity being a Vorwerk website.

That is the downside to putting anything on the Internet, it is there for all to see and some to copy  >:(

I had someone copying my knitting for a while, even using my descriptions word for word, I didn't find it flattering!

I am pleased that you commented, see how long the post stays up?

Very strange.  I mean, why would they even bother?  I know before I put up my recipe for the baby food comp, I did a quick google search for the recipe to see if there were any thermomix recipes out there already before I put mine up.  It doesn't take long to do that to just check that you're not copying someone else already.

I see she's only a new poster, so maybe she doesn't understand how it all should work yet?

Maddy, I think it is a Bl...y cheek.  Glad you replied.  They should say where it came from and give the developer credit.  Several of mine have been copied by different TMX people without credit.  I think one way around it may be to do what Quirky Jo does and call the recipe,  Maddy's ..........

Maddy, I saw that the other day and got very angry because I knew it was your recipe which you had posted on here. Some people are just so damn rude >:(

Good on you for replying.
