Singapore, shopping for Asian kitchen items

Hally you won't really find Singapore that much cheaper for most things. Except perhaps shoes.

We have discovered that today. We thought it was cheaper last time we were here.

The best thing though  is choice

The prices are not cheap Hally but when you convert the currency difference most things are still  cheaper than  home and endless shops so much more variety.
Have a great day today at Marina Bay Sands and Vivocity. The German pub on the river at Vivocity is good for lunch and have a nice alfresco dining area.

With our free upgrade we get complimentary room service breakfast. I have just irdered it, thers enough for the 3 of us, LOL. Dh fruit platter & yoghurt, ds cooked, me toast.

The restaurant we wanted to go to last night at chijmes has closed. Mainly western food there, but still good.

Might check the pub out thanks dh loves saurkraut, me yuk, but anything waterfront alfresco is good.

Taxis last night $10 each way, the mrt would br $6.30, so yes taxi way to go

That's a shame restaurant had closed but so long as you still had a nice meal.
I hate sauerkraut  but they have lots of other foods on the menu.
The pork hock is good.
Do nice pizzas, not called pizza but a square crispy crust with lots of topping choices. I like one that has speck and chilli.
Maybe even just a nice cool beer or wine.
Hope you find some nice clothes or maybe something in Louis Vuitton store?  
You guys did well on the shopping front yesterday.
I am sooooo looking fwd to our trip there

The MRT is the underground train service that links up the whole island JD and Singapore same time zone as Perth.
Maybe one day you will get there

Just finushed breaky in bed, what a treat, ds said great starter are we now going for the other breakfast.LOL he eats so much.

Yes mrt, is similar to the tube in London. Just as packed or more so.

I hate saurkraut too. Ds loves pizza, so will pribably share with him. Dinner tonight indochime or clarke quay.

MF how many nights are you here for, would have been good to meet up.

4 days, 3 nights not enough. Last year we had 8 nights which was great.

Do Indochine at Clarke Quay as its lovely sitting out overlooking the river at night watching all the little bum boats going past.
We are there for 10 nights this time as 7 nights with the group and our youngest DD and husband coming up for 4 nights during Grand Prix.
We going first 3 nights on our own as the 7 nights with the group will be full on.
I think 7 or 8 is great.
We had 4 nights in April on way back from Vietnam and Cambodia.
We usually go up once a year for 7 or 8 nights.
Sometimes with DD and DIL and older GD's.
We enjoy our annual girlie trips usually to Singapore or KL.
We used to do Bali but its lost it's appeal.
Not as easy as it used to be as so many little ones now.

Sounds like CP has the right idea with his food!

Metropolitan Rail Transport me thinks JD. I do not think I would go to a German Restaurant in Singapore unless I had explored ever meal at Newtons Circus.

I love Newtons Circus. The noise, smell and food make for a wonderful time. After we've eaten there we stagger back to our hotel. By the time we get there the food has settled a bit.

Hally there is a Max Brenners at Vivocity. Ground floor looking out towards Sentosa. Have a chocolate tasting plate.
If you want a lovely meal the Grand Hyatt in Scott's Road (round the corner from Tangs) have a lovely smorgasbord of Asian and Indian in the evening.
