Likewise more than our first 6 months (even though I'm the person cooking, for the first 6 months to a year it was my wife's toy and it was barely used for anything beyond rolls or the odd soup, then I said sod it and its now more my toy)

Alas Greyhoundmum I wish I could say it was warm North Yorkshire - it is 3 degrees at the moment, grey skies and damp underfoot. I smile

when I read on the forum that someone has picked lemons from a tree

how I envy you that.

On the flip side however, as much our weather in the UK can be a bone of contention I realise we are not subject to the extreme weather conditions like we have seen this week with Hurricane Sandy. It saddens me immensley when you see lives lost and homes destroyed

. No fires, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis or earthquakes like we see across The Globe. So when I weigh everything up I feel blessed and know I am lucky to live in this 'safe' climate. Just means I have to take more holidays to find the sunshine
