Dear Karen,  How awful.  Eek!  If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest contacting your consultant to have the Thermomix serviced.  It's not just the bowl that may have been damaged.  You don't know whether there are issues in the motor/computer too if the whole thing fell off. Good luck sorting it out.

Karen how awful. My DH has just cracked a sick funny(I told him what had happened). He said you knead some dough to fix the tmx.

My DD dropped my bowl some years ago and dented it. She was devastated. I was furious but felt so sorry for her.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong . . I think it was Thermomixer who suggested placing it in a clean dry sink  . . .  .(was it making the quince paste?  Can't quite remember . . . .)

You were right goldfish, this is what Thermomixer said - NOTE that I placed silicon mats under the feet of the TMX to prevent it moving on the bench. Another alternative if you are not watching all the time is to place the whole machine into an empty kitchen sink to prevent it wandering off the bench.

I can just imagine how your DH felt Karen, accidents happen and thank goodness you did have that second bowl.  I would certainly have the damaged equipment looked at, you never know what they can do to repair it. Do you have an active consultant?

Kathryn I do the old-bowl-in-the-front-of-the-TMX trick if I am going to duck out of the room for a short time, not when it's kneading or anything vigorous but just general cooking just as a precaution.

This nearly happened to me about 3 days after getting my TMX. I was making my first bread, pressed knead, turned to put something in the fridge, turned back and it was less than an inch from the edge of the bench and walking like a robot !  I've never moved so fast and felt sick. 

I'm going to try Kathryn's suggestion of the bowl in front of it.  Good hint.

Oh, Karen how dreadful. At least you have a second bowl.
There are some good tips for securing TMX when kneading. I will try in the sink if I have to leave it.

Oh boy, I would be devastated! (though it would be an excuse to try the HMP!)

I use Thermomixer's trick of putting it in the sink when doing any extended kneading. I pop a towel in first for it to sit on.
