Ok Kimmy. I believe you made a comment along the lines of 'I'll show you mine if you show me yours '. Well I have done the dastardly deed and opened my SS gift. Thank you so much.......( can I say who?). They are utterly amazing and I can't wait to try them. They are handmade soaps and really look WOW. I am going to put the Cook's soap in the kitchen, the pure luxury one in the bathroom, and the oatmeal one too. I am going to try that on my face as I am sure I have heard that it may be good for the complexion.
A GREAT BIG GIANT, ENORMOUS , THANK YOU, to this lovely person. You are so busy and here I have beautiful home made soaps. Xx

My SS gift is now buried amongst all the other gifts under our tree. Not sure if I can find it it a hurry lol, well helps with the temptation to open it lol

I'm pretty sure I could have waited but decided not to. My SS is DJ. She is so wonderful to have made the soaps and so very clever to do so.

I have a friend who opens her cards and presents on her birthday just after midnight and when she sends you a card she writes on it 'do not open until the ....th' but we are all different and why can't we do what we like, we are all adults and that's one of the benefits.  My birthday mornings are so hectic that I like to open all mine the day before or when they arrive and can't see a problem with it. When the kids were little I used to buy them things but then give it to them before their birthday or Christmas and have to go out and buy more.

I'm pretty good with gifts and keeping them. Years ago before I was married I opened all my birthday gifts from my parents etc as they arrived. Then on the morning of my birthday I had nothing. It hit me pretty hard. So now I simply tuck gifts away until the correct day.
I think we all do whatever fits into our lives the best. We are adults and can choose.

I'm opening mine on Christmas Eve, just a thing that my parents did. My children always got to open 1 pressie Christmas Eve and it was always PJ's so they looked nice for the photos Christmas morning.

I wanted you to have something different and original, so I am very pleased that you like them.

They are from my soaps made before we moved and sadly I have not been able to make any more just yet, and we've almost run out!
MJ helped via email and encouraged me for ages to get stuck in and just make soap before I was brave enough  to try.

I noted that you didn't like scents so that was how I chose those 3, although I'd always have sent the cooks soap to you anyway! 

Very glad they survived postal systems and customs too .

LOL last night my DH saw me looking (longingly) at my SS pres from the bed, he brought it over to me and said "why don't you open it?" I said "only 12 days to go" and he said "I know you want to" I said "yeah, but opening date is the 23rd." And he said... "no one will know, just take a pic and don't post it til the 23rd."  I said I would feel bad and if I opened it I would tell the forum people! He just laughed ...and I still resisted!
