Well I'm still not smoking, I'm so proud of myself. :)

Both hubby and I have succeeded and saved heaps of money.
We have purchased a caravan instead of smoking, and we have finished concreting foot paths, and today we brought a new wood heater to keep our bums warm in our cold Tassie winters. :)

Dede,  that is really something that you have achieved.  What a bonus to be able to buy all those new things which will really improve your quality of life.   What type of heater did you buy?

Chookie we brought a Saxon blackwood heater with a nice big door. Our last heater had a little door which caused a heap of problems.

How many of your friends have still quit smoking?

From the 5 of us who all quit together 4 are still smoke free which is an amazing effort considering the statistics show that 9 out of 10 people fail to quit. :)

That is wonderful Dede, well done, you have done a fantastic job.  I am sure with the cooler weather coming the heater will get a lot of use

Great news Mandi, all those expensive items with your savings - how good is that.  You might actually be looking forward to winter this year  ;D

I think we may have spent more money on our new items than what we would of spent smoking :), but its been much easier paying for them.
The concreting alone cost us $2000 which is about the amount I have saved alone from not smoking.

Dede, love the heater.  Yes you need a big door.  We load ours with the logs from front to back,  not side ways.  More heat and they burn longer.

Yes we load ours from front to back as well, I think it's safer that way too, less likely for burning wood to roll out. :). Our other heater was struggling to burn over night either which is horrible when we have a frosty morning and no heat. :)
