Just a question girls - can you buy Crio Bru in Adelaide.  CC is wanting some to take home.  We are making a list of things she wants to look for at the market or elsewhere.

That would be great thanks Karen, CC would appreciate a packet if you are able to find the time to do so and the choice of flavour is in your hands as she has never tasted it.  CC has also just added to her list, some of your lemon myrtle leaves as she loved the ice-cream last night.  Is there a way of drying them for the return journey? Thanks Karen and you too Kim, xx

Jd tenina mentioned during her class that she suggested cavalla crio for first timers or if you are a coffee drinker and her preferred blend is vega real crio...

The crio bru is no problem - I have to go to the Organic Market anyway.

The lemon myrtle leaves I am not so sure.  I dont think the leaves can be used to make ice-cream once they are dried.  When dried and powdered they can be added to cakes, biscuits and slices, but I dont think it would work in the icecream anymore.

I can certainly bring along a bag of fresh leaves which CC can take with her back to Sydney, and they would probably be dry by the time she had to go back to the UK.  Worth a try!

I might try substituting fresh lemongrass to flavour the ice cream.I was so impressed by your recipe.

Actually CC, I have just googled other recipes for lemon myrtle ice-cream, it seems like the dried powdered stuff would work just fine.  Just substitute 1 tsp of the dried stuff to the cream mixture instead of infusing the leaves into the cream.

I also found a recipe for a lemon myrtle and macadamia nut cheesecake that I might just have to try  ;D ;D
