I think it's English cookie and what I love about it is that it isn't full of vegetarian recipes, it's mainly a book of recipes using vegetables  - a big difference. Photos of every recipe too, another plus.

I wasn't sure where to put the photo of my Christmas Cookbooks. I decided here was possibly as good as anywhere.



The Bread and Butter Project by Bourke Street Bakery is a story as well as having lots of recipes. Mainly sourdough that I can't wait to try. The story is how one half of the Bourke St Bakery team was invited to Burma to help some village women learn to bake artisan style bread for hotels and cakes. On his return to Australia he dreamt of doing something similar here with people. It is a tiny bit similar to Jamie Oliver's idea but with bread. He managed to get grants and monetary gifts and gives people a 12 month 'lesson.

Two of the cookbooks I received for Christmas. I love The Bits on Sticks Book. I will be trying out the basil and garlic veg sticks at our BBQ on Australia Day.

Courton, I'm cooking for approx. 25 guests that will come and go as it a long weekend and other commitments.

Starters - mini meat pies, baked camembert, Tenina's camembert encroute, 2 dips with TMX made crackers, meatballs and dipping sauce, JD's caramelised onion, fetta and mushroom tarts, bread patties (an 80's recipe of Bernard King).

Mains - Marinated Chicken fillets, homemade skinless sausages, quiche & vegie burgers (for the vegetarians), Bacon and egg pie (DH's specialty).

Sides - potato bake, garden salad, wombok salad ( the one off changs noodle pkt), pasta salad, zucchini slice, stuffed capsicums and damper.

Dessert - pavlova, lamingtons, fruit platter and an Aussie themed birthday cake (not quite finalised) for my brother and son that have birthdays a day or 2 around the same time).

Drinks - water with lemon and lime slices, punch (I have drink dispensers for those), iced tea in the T2 jug, beer, wine and soft drink.

And now I have added the veg sticks as well. DH is very helpful which makes a big difference. I have posted some pics of the finger food I have already made and frozen and will post pics of the food on the day. I too, love seeing photos and menus.

Thanks but not so big a deal. Some tried and often used recipes in the menu.

You'll need lots of fridge space for that food on the day Michele, I find that's always the biggest problem.  Great menu, well done and I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends.
