Just love gadgets
« on: January 04, 2013, 02:14:25 am »
My wife and I both work at time demanding jobs. As a result many of our meals are store prepared (M&S or Waitrose) or is a simple steak/grilled fish.

I have two goals and the Thermomix seems a great tool to help me with them plus I am an efficiency freak who loves good gadgets. 1) I want to cook at home to a good chef standard for family and friends and 2) to have home prepared meals with fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers where possible.

My first venture with the Thermomix was Celeriac and Porcini soup which was easy and tasted great. I then made two curries in about an hour - Chicken Korma for Marie and Chicken in Yogurt for me. With almost no effort I now have three portions of each in the freezer - brilliant.

Then Christmas and New Year got in the way which was great but took me away from my new hobby.

I will be checking this forum as I love getting peoples corrections or variations on recipes especially on the Everyday cooking…for every family.

Talk with you soon,
Keir

Welcome Keir . You have started out well. Next you will be making your own yoghurt to go with your curry!

A warm welcome to the forum  Keir.
Buying a thermomix is a great step in achieving your goals. It is a pleasure to be able to create from the basics with the machine. As others have said we are all into gadgets..

Hi and welcome to the forum Keir.  It's nice to hear you are stocking up the freezer with your own meals.  Does Marie dabble with the Thermomix or is it your baby?

Until I got her an iPhone she did not email or text. No Marie us the exact opposite. Cooks when she has to but can turn it on when motivated - like Christmas!

She regards the Thermomix with the same fear as she does a pressure cooker.

I can understand Marie's fears of a pressure cooker, I am the same. But I do love my thermomix.

As Gert has said we are also into devices. She is our iPad, mini iPad etc guru. I have found the iPad ever so handy with the thermomix.
