Welcome Estiny. I like your approach and style. Any quality silicone mat will do.  I use Isi's Porteguese bread roll recipe for pizza dough sometimes as it is easy. I can make two thin crust pizza's from it using the rectangular oven tray that came with my oven so leftovers for DH' lunch!

Got a call today from my demonstrator and my TMX is here!  :D but she can't deliver it till Saturday. She will be helping me set it up, give it a wash and make vege stock with it. I am already thinking in my mind what dishes to cook... yes, I said it, dishes! LOL Saw Maddy's chorizo risotto and it looks so good, although probably cook it when hubby is on night shift since I know he won't like risotto. Then it got me thinking I need to go get some lentils to make the sweet potato soup judydawn has shown me the link to the recipe. Then wholewheat to make bread, vege scrolls came to mind. Then mango ice cream... Oh mine... I am salivating now before the machine is even here! I am so excited! What dish did you first cook in it?  ;)

I made the vegetable stock first Estiny. Mainly because I needed it to do risottos, soups etc. you sound as though you have lots planned. Enjoy your thermomixing. Take the next couple of days to have a good look through the forum, plan some meals for the next week and purchase any new ingredients you may need.
Have fun on Saturday.

Hi Estiny,  Welcome to the forum.  Before you go and buy anymore books try some of the great recipes that are on here.  As for the mat, I have the thermomix mat but was given a silicon mat from Ikea by my Secret Santa for Christmas and find that that works just as well.  Enjoy!!!

hi and welcome Estiny, mat from Ikea is great, recipes from forums are great too, revisit buying too many books to start with. I found some books I would only use one or two recipes from.  Enjoy!!!

Well, 2 weeks on since receiving my Thermomix and I haven't ordered takeaway once! I have done the vegetable stock of course, sweet potato and red lentil soup twice, pumpkin soup, crispy seasoning coating courtesy from this forum, pikelets, honey soy chicken with rice, mushroom risotto, beef strogonoff with potato mash, potato and zucchini "pancakes", mini chicken patties, pumpkin slice, zucchini slice, and ooh, salted caramel ice cream! I just wish its not so hot here in Perth as I haven't got a chance to try making bread or pizza dough. My only regret is that I should have got this one year ago and not worry about getting a cake stand mixer! Love this machine. Everything is so idiot proof for me in cooking. This forum provides lots of recipe inspirations! Thank you again.  ;D

Well estiny, you have been bitten by the TMX Bug just like all of us,  ;D. I had had a heap of visitors lately and love the TMX for quickly whipping up a dip and salads, it's a great machine.

Well, it wasn't too hot today in Perth and inspired to do something, I came across a recipe from Taste.com.au and modified it slightly, looked at the main recipes in the TMX cookbook and managed to somehow convert it.  ;D It tasted like a scone/damper bread roll and I added rosemary, garlic, parmesan cheese and ham and it was so easy I am amazed I actually made bread! No hand kneading required! The kids love the taste and even hubby thought it was nice. I will give it another try before I write down the full recipe and post it although I am sure somewhere someone already had a similar recipe posted. Love the TMX!  :D

Estiny that is wonderful. Wasn't yesterday so lovely and cool, only 29 I think. I actually made soup and then an olive bread
Both recipes from this forum.
