« on: February 03, 2013, 10:20:18 pm »

Spare room disasster :o

Need to clear out & buy bed or beds.

What is more  useful, 2 single beds or a doube or queen bed?

Need to buy bed or beds & linen.

Also need to use wardrobe for kitchen storage :)

Please let me know what you have & why.

Cp has a single bed & bunk beds in his room.

How old are the cousins Hally? You could move CP's bunk beds in there while they visit

Hally, have you thought about a pullout sofa couch instead?
It won't take up as much room as beds, and you can still utilise the room for something else, other than a spare bedroom.

Maddy, DH suggested that.

I dont thnk we need another room.

We have 4 bedrooms, one is a study, cp has his own large area plus his room. Kitchen living dining & home theatre room. Whar would we need another room for ???

But your right, less space would be taken up.

I just want to make the right decision.

We have a queen bed for when my dad stays with us from Geelong once or twice a year. I now wish we went the pull out sofa way so we could use the room more when he's not here. It would have allowed it to be a play room/ toy room/ chill out area especially for the kiddies.  :)

Thanks kt2.

Maddy, your encouraging me to fill up yet another space.

Seriously thinking about the sofa bed now :)

Hally yes 60 is probably a bit old to be climbing into a bunk bed  :D :D

Pull out bed is good or a queen size normal bed. Just be careful with the pull out beds as a lot of them are small and do not fit two people in comfortably.

Hally before children came along we had a double bed set up in a spare room. Very annoying as it needed to look good all the time and rest of room couldn't be used. It hardly was slept in.  I always complained to DH that we should have bought a sofa bed, but now am thinking one of those good brand bed in a bag blow up queen beds would be better. The ones that are high off the floor. Pump em up and deflate and store later. Hope that helps :)

We upgraded our bed & use our   QB a couple of times a year for guests. I wish it was a double as our guests don't stay too long & the QB takes up too much space in that room fir when guests are and are not visiting. Ultimately I'd get a queen sofa bed.

Best thing to buy is 2 king singles that can be used separately or pushed together for a king. You then have a bed that will adapt to everyone's needs. Make sure you let bed salesperson know that this is the purpose so you don't get beds that will have a ridge in the middle.
