A couple that the family use here are
Sennega & Ammonia and the Bonningtons Irish moss.  One or the other has usually worked for them

HI DJ - sorry to hear you're going through that.  It really can knock you flat!  Have you seen a dr yet?  I'm not crazy about doctors but it could be an antibiotic is needed.  Lots of fluids - water, herbal teas, tea with honey and lemon, . .and rest - the more you keep pushing yourself the longer it seems to take.

Do look after yourself and I hope you're feeling a whole lot better soon. . .

I always go the Honey and Lemon juice , if the coughing won't stop I always have a teaspoon of honey straight off the spoon.

Forgot to add and I think Judy has mentioned it on the other thread about rubbing the soles of your feet with Vicks before going to bed.  It does work, so if coughing of a night is a problem it might be worth a go.
Hope your better soon  :-*

Sorry to hear you are still unwell DJ, that's no good at all.

I had written down a recipe for onion cough syrup ages ago but now can't put my hand on it so I've googled and come up with this  one. Has anyone tried it before?  It's worth reading all the comments as there are tweaks to the original recipe and it does seem to be a proven remedy.

Ammonia Marie? Do you use it as an inhalation?

A lot of people seem to buy that one AB but I just soldier on through these things as I don't think over the counter medicines really work, well not for me anyway.  I have made the BHG drink a few times over the years - the little glugs of whisky or brandy seem to help me sleep better  :-))
