achookwoman - Miss 11 had no problems following the recipe. If she did she would have asked me.
It was a good night and she loves cooking. I'd be surprised if she didn't do something along the food lines when she gets older. Meanwhile she can keep practising on us - I love it when I don't have to cook!

Nikkit,  I think it is a really good educational experience for children of this age group.   It involves maths, English, comprehension and positive  feed back.

Hi chookwoman!  Recipe sounds great, but me still being a greeny at using my TM wonder about the dish that will fit into the vermo. Do you have to put the lid on the vermo, or just cover the dish?  Sorry to sound so very basic.

Janetski, question is fine.  Cover both.  you can cover the dish with foil,  just a bit more difficult to remove to stir.  I love steaming so when I got the TMX,  I put the Varoma in a bag and went to the local shopping center and tried lots of pyrex dishes to see what would fit.  When I cook in the Varoma,  the dish that i use,  I take to the table and each person serves them selves.  Hope this helps.

I didn't cover my bowl Chookie, couldn't see any reason to do it.

I cover it just so drops of water don't go into the dish.  I have read where some chefs cover with kitchen hand towel.  i think it was Neil Perry.

We had this last night and it was a big hit. DH followed the instructions exactly  which I had changed slightly to reduce the cooking time by ten minutes for breast fillets and it was perfect. The stir fry vegetables were also a hit. DH has said he will definitely make again.

Wonder,  I am pleased that you liked it.   You could turn it into a All in One Dish by placing veggies in tray and rice in basket.  However the Stirfry is pretty easy.
