I can't say any more than everyone has already said.  You are both in our hearts and thoughts.  As Gert said, just take one thing at a time.

Thanks again for the good wishes, I think they are working.  Friend drove me up to Bendigo to collect car. Although out of warranty was fixed,  no charge.
Marina, i will be very close to you tomorrow and totally frustrated that i wont be able to call in.

B*#@er ... if possible, can I try to meet you somewhere - even if only for 5 minutes - just to give you a hug / buy you a coffee ...?

Hope all goes well today. XX

OMG Chookie - just catching up on everything . . talk about going through the mill!!  Hoping very much that things settle down and begin to return to some semblance of normality for you and Ral!

I have no idea if this suggestion would be helpful for Ral or not . . Decades ago I was travelling in Mexico with a similar outcome as Ral . . I never thought it was possible to ever be so ill!! - As a precaution we'd asked our GP for a Rx for some antibiotics to take with us and although it was of some comfort to have them on hand it seemed not to help much at all when push came to shove . . (unintended painful pun! :-)))

It took nearly 6 months to return to normal and only it seems after consuming vast amounts of plain yogurt at the suggestion of a friend- a good yogurt with all the cultures in place . . .( in Australia I'd suggest something like Jalna pot set yogurt - full cream) - I had as much as I could manage, morning, noon and night.  Now, it's hard to say which came first, the chicken or the egg, but I did get better - Just a thought which may or may not be useful . .

I'm really sorry to hear about the chooks.  Also some time ago - we had chooks (hens and roosters) in North Parramatta.  The property backed onto a reserve and was just across the road from Lake Parramatta).  When the population expanded somewhat I took several  up to a property in the Hunter Valley and spent days building coops so predator proof even the humans had difficulty getting in! ;D ;D  Meanwhile, back at the ranch in Sydney where I had assumed all was safe, over time we eventually lost 5 ducks and several chooks.  I couldn't figure out what was happening and for a short while thought the raiders had to be of the two legged variety!  That is until one night in the wee hours of the morning, I heard a commotion and caught the most gorgeous looking red fox coming over a high paling fence.  Chased it off throwing everything at it bar the kitchen sink but nothing deters them once they've sussed out where "The Restaurant of the Month" is located . . >:(

I do wish you the best. Chookie - always thinking of you and Ral and fingers crossed that the finish line of this humungous obstacle race is just a short distance in front of you! :-* :-* :-*

Goldfish,  you did make me laugh.  We will get more chooks.  Daughter  , Anna prepared  a new home for some new girl, last week end.  She is going to put a concrete floor in next Sat.
Ral is taking tablets that contain the same active ingredient as the yoghurt.  Hasn't taken then for long enough time to show an improvement. But thanks forthought.
Thanks again for all the good wishes.

What a very handy DD you have Chookie, did Ral teach her everything she knows?  Good luck today and say hi from me to those good friends of yours who are driving you to town. Big hugs to you both.
