I still have an empty freezer apart from dog food, peas, some buttermilk and blueberries .

Am cooking for DH's again  but am doing minimal shopping and only as needs be . Still working on the pantry and it is going well.

Now Hally don't go ordering a cow, a lamb and pig or it will be full again.  ;D ;D

On Wednesday I made an inventory of everything in the freezer in the garage. I planned what to make with everything in there. Then I would like to turn off the freezer, even if it's just for a few weeks.
It will take longer now that DH is away. I will be able to have a no spend shopping week though.  ;D
Does anyone have any suggestions for Lebanese bread other than pizza bases? I find them a bit thick for wraps. There are 3 of them.
The only thing I will probably end up chucking is half a tub of frozen yogurt - DH bought it, thinking it would be a healthy alternative to ice-cream until he read the sugar content and all the numbers.

Here's some ideas for leftover Lebanese bread Michele.

Pizza bases

Lebanese bread salad - fatoush and the following idea from http://figjamandlimecordial.com/2011/04/03/lebanese-bread-crackers-and-fattoush-salad/ -  Whenever a packet of Lebanese bread gets a little stale, I turn them into crackers, by simply toasting them in the café press.  It only takes a couple of minutes per slice, and the end result is a dry, crisp cracker that keeps well for several days in an airtight container.  It’s the perfect accompaniment to cheeses, an antipasto plate, or dips.  We keep a packet of Lebanese bread in the freezer specifically for this purpose, and now no longer buy water crackers or crispbreads when we’re preparing a cheese plate.

You can split the Lebanese bread into two for wraps . Just make a cut in the side and stick you hand in.

Thanks Judy and Gert.

I love the idea of the bread cases - I quite often make DizzyGirl's baked bean bread cases and could use it up for them and the crackers.
Of course Gert, that would be perfect. Don't know why I didn't think of that.
Looks like the Lebanese bread days are numbered.  :D

The bread also makes good crutons & also with melted cheese in french onion soup :)

It was lovely to have an empty freezer & the other one was about12/4 empty at the end, full now though. :)
