Frozen fagioli?
« on: June 06, 2014, 09:52:44 am »
I'm not sure where to ask this question... sorry if it's the wrong forum!

Can the pasta fagioli (thermie style) be frozen?

TIA!

It will end up very thick Cidy.  It sets very firm once it's cold as you've probably seen for yourself. I once froze it as I didn't like the taste at all then I added some to a tuna mornay so as not to waste it.  It didn't enhance the tuna mornay from memory but at least it disn't get wasted.

Thanks Judy! Looks like it's out of the qn then. :) I'll go searching the forum on freezer-friendly recipes (for my toddler). Cheers.

Cldy, have you got the Toddler and Baby Book, lots of things in there are suitable to freeze.

I've frozen it a few times. I make it quite thick (a bit like macaroni cheese), so it is not too bad, but not as nice as when it is first made.
