We are almost finishing our week in Waikiki - the husband is running his first ever half marathon tomorrow then we move onto Aulani which is a Disney resort for our last week.

Feeling very lazy and relaxed with having eaten out for every single meal since Easter Sunday! Lots of walking and swimming daily with a few shopping trips in between.

Couple of views from our Waikiki apartment and on top of Diamond Head.

Thank you everyone. Waikiki is gorgeous - other then home, it is my "happy place".

The husband did awesome! 21klms in 2hr 40min. He has only ever run 5klm park runs as a hobby starting last year. The most he has run over the last two months was 12klms so he is so pleased and we are so proud of him. He is already eyeing off the Honolulu full marathon in December LOL.

Congratulations to your DH kyton, now that he's proven himself it's only natural that he'll want to go on to bigger races now.  Well done!

Well done My Kyton, I couldn't think of a better place to have a go at a half or full marathon. Not sure where you are from, but the Melbourne 1/2 and full marathon are great as the course is quite scenic, reasonably flat and goes past some of Melbourne's iconic locations.

I'm getting excited, I've been so busy with work recently but from this Sunday I'm spending 1 week at a health retreat in the Gold Coast hinterland. One full week of no caffeine, alcohol, internet, phone, added sugar or salt. I'm expecting it to be a challenge and I'm sure I'll miss the family, but can't wait for the challenge and to hopefully feel the effects of good wholesome food, exercise and relaxation.

I've always wanted to go to a health retreat (but not one that gives up all those items), it will never happen but I hope you enjoy it Wonder.  I'd have the biggest headache if I didn't drink my 2 cups of coffee a day though :-))

We are home from our trip away to Qld. We had a lovely time and we are already planning the next weekend away. Went to Eumundi markets on Saturday, the best markets I've ever been to, some very talented locals - They call it The make it, bake it, sew it, grow it markets. The big pineapple was disappointing, not much there and the big pineapple itself hasn't changed since I went there as a kid. A day in Brisbane at South Bank was great too.
Some wild life around the camp site too. This little fellow took up residence in our ensuite and there were plenty of lizards, ibis (apparently they are a problem in Maroochydore) and plenty of bush turkeys at Yamba an Emerald Beach.

Stopped overnight at Emerald Beach - just outside of Coffs Harbour before heading home. Really pretty spot that I would like to visit again. This is Emerald Beach at sunset. On the way there we had to get a pic of the Big Prawn - I have a fascination with big things. This photo will go with the big banana, the big pineapple, ozzie the mozzie etc. We also had lunch at The Ettamogah Pub.
