Judy, they look good. Once you get the method right you can use up that starter and not throw it away. They freeze very well. Daughter came in from Skiing and I was cooking her some to take home but she kept eating them.!

She would have been starving after going skiing Chookie so that was quite understandable. I'll have to make a batch for Mum, she will think I'm a very clever chook(ie)

Judy, the smaller ones would be handy. Just a handy little morning tea.

I will cookie. These would be so much easier than making raisin bread to toast for breakfast.
I so rarely eat morning tea Chookie, breakfast lasts me until lunch time.

Judy, I just have to have my cup of coffee at 11am. On 5 day I may have a little something with it. On a 2 day, skinny coffee and no nibble.

Made Wholemeal and sesame large SD crumpets. Froze them so didn't try them straight away. Split them in half and toasted. Beautiful.
To 1 cup of wholemeal starter, add 1/2 teaspoon carb soda and 2 teaspoons of Sesame seeds and sprinkle a few on the top while cooking.
To make Wholemeal starter, just remove 1/2 cup of white starter into a jar and feed it with wholemeal flour and filtered water until you have enough.

Chookie, I've been given some Herman friendship cake batter. Do you think I could make crumpets with this?

These were so easy. I now need to buy some crumpet rings - I used a set of scone cutters and made them in different sizes as that's all I had. I on,y made half a batch as I didn't have the proper rings, and only made 4. I had 2 of them for breakfast with some bantam eggs, and the kids had one each. I was so proud of my breakfast that I showed DH, and he took a bite before I could take a photo. He was impressed with how light and fluffy they were. I'm so glad I finally got around to making them.
