I've started this as I wanted to say what fantastic Golden Syrup dumplings. We love these and make them every time I can find an excuse to. Mum made them when I was a kid, so I think they have the title of Comfort Food for me.
Fantastic photo too Kimmy.

Great idea Cookie. The dumplings are making me drool and I love, love, love yorkshire pud.
Thanks so much Cornish for doing this. My first thoughts were roast beef and yorkshire pud too Judy, so will have to think of something else that reminds me of home.

We also had golden syrup dumplings as a kid, I love them and yes your right great comfort food cookie, thanks Kim for the reminder. I've never made Yorkshire pud.

I've never eaten golden syrup dumplings but Kim's photo makes them look so inviting. Thanks for getting the competition rolling Kim.

Judy you could make them for 1. They are so easy. I love your Yorkshire puddings.

Thanks girls. I too grew up with golden syrup dumplings. It's been fun passing on the tradition to the boys who love them just as much as me. Judy I can't believe you haven't tried them yet! If you ever make it down my way, I'll whip you up a batch!!!! Having said that, I've never eaten Yorkshire pud.

Wow Judy I've just seen your puddings and they are huge and puffy. Do you freeze them or eat them all?

Thanks Kim, I ate one straight out of the pan, kept one to go with tonight's tea and have frozen the rest. I didn't think about freezing them until I saw some in the freezer section at the supermarket a few years back. Having the a/f makes it easy to heat just the 1 when I want it.

I didn't know what a Yorkshire Pudding was until I was about 18. We rarely had beef when I was growing up as we had our own sheep to eat. Then Dad started slaughtering a beast and we had lots of delicious, aged beef as well. A very big job killing a beast though. It used to be all hands on deck for a very long day when we cut it up. My job was packaging, labelling and doing the mince. I'd love some of that meat now. More memories!!!!,

Meat from your own farm animals is always nice Cookie. Much better than what we can buy in the shops these days. I always hated selling any of our animals

Margaret your B and B pudding looks lovely.
I know what I'm going to make, and it has a little story to go with it. It is a dessert. DH made an enormous fruit salad yesterday so it will have to wait a couple of days.
